  1. Front brake control, it has 4 settings,Low all the way to the left 9 o’clock then a detent notch at 12 o’clock and a detent notch at 1 o’clock and full at 3 o’clock,,, I never really thought about what years Mack used this Bendix-Westinghouse valve or if any other truck manufacturer used them, both my LJ parts trucks have this same valve , my H & C Models just have a on & off Dry/ Slippery. LTH has No front brakes .
  2. I’ll keep asking for updates on your B73 , That forces me to stay in the shop on a rainy day and make progress on my project! And Thank Both of Y’all and ALL Veterans on here for their Service ! 🇺🇸
  3. I’ve got that same picture in one of my Mack books,, When I was growing up my Dad did most of his trucking out of Winston Salem for Hennis,, and when I got my license I used the LJ that I’m restoring to tow for McLean from there , and I can’t recall ever seeing one of those trucks, Probably all got cut up by the late 70s . I would love to see the picture of the one that survived in West Chester PA .
  4. It made a nice Rollback,, And like everyone knows,, it won’t set at the dealership half the time with the check engine light on.
  5. Yes I still see neat stuff for sale,, But except for the LTH , I have restrained myself,, Watching “ Coach Matt “ for the last few years has kept me motivated on the LJ . Seeing His B 73 Going down the road was a great motivator!
  6. This is what the DuPont store mixed from the back of my glove box, I cleaned and waxed it before we used the paint camera,,, I was pleased with it,, I’m sure it’s a little off from original .
  7. Yes he’s growing up,, He’s all over these Mack’s now! I’ll take a picture of the label of the label of that beige and any DuPont store should be able to mix it .
  8. I’ll get it for you Monday when I get back to my shop.
  9. Disregard the first picture with my Grandson, the light hit it wrong and made it look olive , The center one is the one I have a DuPont ( Nason ) Code for
  10. Yes I believe I have had all 3 beige colors at some point, My LTH is light, it’s original, My LJ was a little darker, I took the glove box off and waxed the back of it, took it to the local DuPont store and shot it with the camera and mixed it ,, it came out pretty good, I probably still have the darker code if you need it, I’ll send a picture of both, the LJ & LTH ,, I had another old Mack that was lighter than both of these.
  11. For sure,, I love old pictures of trucks & trains working back in the day , I found this one a while back, it’s the Carolina Special coming up Saluda Grade ( steepest mainline railway in the USA, 5% ) The had a siding at the bottom, and a pusher would come out from behind and help. I’ve ridden up the backside of the grade with Dad in our C Model Mack when I was a kid, The road crossed the tracks at the top of the grade,, I donated this picture to the Saluda Grade Depot Museum.
  12. Looks nice and smooth,, that Backdrop is noticeable,, I’m sure those young kids with their iPhones can tell it’s got a 220 with a Backdrop,, NOT !
  13. I’m sure it’s homemade, They sold the property a couple years ago and there was all kinds beams and dollies laying around. I remember watching them move a brick house with it about 500 feet when I40 came through here . I used the transmission because it looked brand new inside, and mine had a lot of miles. They probably never used it in high gear .
  14. In ( Way too many years) that I have been working on this LJ restoration I have been fortunate that I have been donated 2 LJ Parts trucks , one with a 200 Cummins single axle, very rusty, and one Gas tandem, The Gas LJ was purchased new by a company near me when I was growing up,, they moved houses mostly, I remember as a boy seeing it being used. One of the original owners grandsons, gave it to me a few years ago, it was In really bad shape, but I have used a few pieces off of it. And actually I used the transmission in my L J , they put air power steering on it. It’s been a great help. I found a picture of it in use back in the day. Pretty cool!
  15. That’s a work of art! Time to enjoy it now.
  16. That Blue one is a beauty! Keystone Museum has a beautiful Black one with a E9 , I saw it yesterday , Which by the way , Keystone Museum is a MUST for Truck ( and Tractor) Lovers, or if you’re just a Mack fan they have a great selection,, the Museum is a classic!
  17. You can still do it before it gets dirty! It looks great.
  18. Thanks License to Kill,, We get to chasing rabbits at times, and Trucks like the one I just posted is the reason I’m still working on the Coca Cola Painted LJ that I’m restoring . If I had stayed the course, it would have been done years ago. I probably should’ve started the post as “ Restoring a LJ “ . Matt got involved with a backdrop manifold and we became friends, and it’s gone from there. It’s been a great experience making a lot of friends, I’m planning on getting some more information on the Yellow LTH soon and sharing some of its history.. Thanks for the interest.
  19. Heading to Cherokee,,, I chose to haul it 60 miles because the 1973 rear tires ,, it was a nice show .
  20. Yeah Brocky it was about 50/50 split with antiques and nice working trucks , hopefully I can make Colfax .
  21. Beautiful day at Cherokee, not sure how many trucks, maybe 75 or more.
  22. Great looking flooring! I floored my 53 foot Landoll year before last with Apitong , I was reading up on it and from what I gathered it’s the 2nd strongest wood in the world. I predrlled through the wood and cross member with a slightly smaller bit, then ran those torx head self tapping screws in with a 1/2 air wrench,,, Back braking! Yours will be perfect,, I know your work!
