  1. Probably at this point I have reduced the number of wires so I’ll be better off making one. As for the 220s I’m not a expert on them,, I heard they came out in 1959, this one was a Cummins recon, put in in 1963 ,, the welding supply co had it done,, ( unsure if the old disc pump 200 would be accepted as a core back then) I have a friend with a old Gallion motor grader with a 220 , it has 2 accessary drives like mine,, I believe I saw one with a Super Charger driven with a chain off the right accessory drive,, Maybe all factory options.
  2. I love those old company color schemes , You rarely see that anymore, as I have found out with my LJ , sometimes the guys in the shop would add a little different combination. They took “ Pride “ in company colors back then for sure.
  3. Yep it’s going to be a winter project for sure,, I can’t stand messy wiring ( I’ve bought a couple trucks that looks like someone stuck a weed eater under the dash! ) But on the bright side with a one wire Alternator the wiring is pretty simple. Which was a small project its self, since it wasn’t belt driven, ( lovejoy coupler ) but works great.
  4. I got some time today to install the dash and start wiring ( I have no harness at all ). I wired my dash lights and the back of the dash, plan is making a harness from my switch’s to their components , I put a universal fuse box on the inside to feed the switch’s. It’s going to be time consuming ,,,,,
  5. Perfect,, just as We expected! Thanks for the pictures! More Motivation for Me and the LJ !
  6. No I didn’t know of any, Mostly staying on Hwy 1 from Portland to Bar Harbor,,Love Acadia ! wanted to go to the Mack museum,, but it was still closed, I went though Boston and caught some Historic sights ( and Historic Traffic, lol ) I would love to go back, I’ll Post it if I do and y’all can give me some good suggestions.
  7. They look Great! It looked like the weather was perfect also! ( by the way we got home from our Maine trip,, weather was amazing all week! , Great trip ,, I got asked a dozen times were I was from, couldn’t hide the Carolina accent I guess, lol . I met a lot of good people! Loved it.)
  8. Took a few days off from Work & The LJ ,, Drove up to Maine, Got to visit a couple of Mack guys, had a good time talking with them.
  9. Had a great visit,, I found out 3 things for sure,, Matt is a great guy, All his projects are done like the B73 , And all the pictures we have seen posted for the last few years ( and they are great) Still don’t bring out the Perfection as actually seeing it in person!
  10. Yes it was , sorry I could not set and talk,, my 7 year old grandson walked me pretty much all over that place ( thank you for the water you gave him) I’ll try to get to another show or 2 this year.
  11. I actually sent this in to the truck magazine, I worked for Mr Jones, I was his only driver for 3 years. He’s the one that bought the truck from the welding company in 69 , it was still the original colors but faded bad, I tapped it up one Saturday and sprayed it with some left over paint I had painted my race car with. I got the truck from him in about 1982 . I still have the magazine .
  12. Thank you, sounds great,, Hopefully someone will read our discussion and have a Idea where I could find a LJ / LT manual . It’s the same way on this truck as the wiring and some air lines were cobbled up ,, I imagine a lot of emergency repair on the side of the road,,, Funny part is I remember doing some of them! I ran this truck down I 40 a bunch between Asheville NC and Knoxville TN ( pretty desolate back then) towing for McLean Trucking back to Winston Salem , so I’ve done a few midnight wiring “ Bypass “ repairs .
  13. You definitely took it down further then I have ever seen ! Great Work! Your on the last mile of a long journey,, And DoubleClutchinWeasel was Spot on about having a vision of the finish product ! You actually had to have more vision then me ,, because I drove my project,, 40 years ago .
  14. I’m going to try to send them a message,, I tried calling a couple months ago and they were still closed. The sent me a Parts build sheet about 10 years ago on it that a lot of the part numbers still change over,, very helpful! I also always wondered if they made a schematic on the air line plumbing? Hopefully I can get in touch with them.
  15. Will Do,, I hope I can get away. I’ll look for you if I get down there.
  16. I’m not sure if I’ll get time to bring a truck down,, I just got in from working, I may bring my Grandson down.
  17. I was wondering where I could get a diagram, l looked at some pictures of your dash that you posted and the LJ has fewer wires then the B73 , the old harness is long gone, I do have a parts truck that I removed the dash and it will be a good reference, but I would like to have a factory LJ wiring diagram just to keep it as close as possible. I’ll use modern wire and loom because I already bought enough 14 & 10 gauge wiring. Removing the voltage regulator, generator, and the series parallel switch cut a lot of wiring out already. Thank you.
  18. Hopefully I’ll get some time over the weekend to get back on my dash wiring, ( No Harness at all, was all trash) I’m trying to use as many old switch’s as I can, sense I’m putting it back for the same look it had when I started driving it when I was 18 . The biggest changes I made are Tubeless tires, Alternator, backdrop manifold and Jake Brake. Tom Mahoney is sending me 2 old style Jake Dash switch’s. Hopefully I can get a good start on the wiring, Equipment hauling has been busy ( which is great,, when buying Paint and old Mack parts)
  19. That Last Center shot is Absolutely Perfect! That’s a B73 Poster ! Great Detail!
  20. Mud Flaps look perfect on the front! That’s the way we always mounted them on ours . When Dad got a New truck that was the first thing that got installed,,
