    They are making a 4 lane on 143 ( Sweetwater Rd ) , across the Mt at the Appalachian Trail. I’ve been all over that area, there was a couple Superliners on 129 but I haven’t seen them lately. Still always looking for LJ parts ( Fenders mainly) when I’m back off the beaten path.

    Yes they are good shows, Another in Cherokee in October, I’m not sure I’ll make it to Dacusville, Hopefully Lincolnton. I’ve been so busy I can’t get time to work on any Mack’s .

    Thank Y’all . I’m sure you have met him Brocky , he was always at the Waynesville and Cherokee show, and he would help me when we had the Truck Show at the WNC ag center across from the Asheville Airport years ago.

    Today was a hard day, My friend of over 40 years, Jim Buckner Passed last week, this is his B73 leading his Funeral Procession today. This truck was a factory single axle with a Mack engine, He put a Big cam Cummins in it, with Pete air ride, he added 8 inches to the rear of the hood , Great Guy, Great Mechanic and Fabricator. I had shown him Pictures of your B73 , he was very impressed, it’s like you said Matt ,, Enjoy EVERY DAY!

    Some days are harder than others,, this weekend has been tough, My friend Jim Buckner of 40 years that I’ve traded Mack parts with, Went to a lot of Truck Shows with, And mostly just a good Friend, Passed away last Thursday, This is his B 73 Leading the Funeral Procession today.

    All the way to the right would make more room for sure. He says he’s going to drive it to school when he turns 16 ,, he probably will, he’s 1/2 way there, lol

    It certainly takes getting used to, Mine are size 12 , and with steel toe work boots you can’t just slip your foot from fuel to brake, kinda have to lift it and set it back , but I think the picture does show it closer than what it is,, but it is still a little tricky. I’ll try to find a closer picture, I’ll start paying attention to other trucks with that 3 speed auxiliary.

    Geoff you are correct about the “ Brownie “ box shifter being directly behind the fuel pedal,, it came factory with this setup according to the original owners son,, I’m unsure if this was common back then with Mack’s , it was originally a log truck sent to Northern California. Dan Thomas has the Sister truck ( 1 serial number newer) I’m unsure what transmission setup his has, it was on the cover of Wheels of Time last year. ( Note the 8 track radio under the glove box,, it was a early 70s restoration)

    I have seen those at truck shows but I can’t think of anyone who has one ,, I’m sure they are out there,, I’ll keep my eyes open for one, I know a guy who has a few old Bs junked ,, I’ll ask him . I have an air compressor for a 673 with a PS pump on it.

    Looking absolutely gorgeous! I refloored my 53’ Landoll with Apitong , that’s what came on it new,, most new lowboys come with it,, It’s very tough! And it will look great on yours for sure.

    NC State Troopers used to have a old patrol car like that, I think it was once in the transportation museum in Spencer, didn’t go in that area when I went to the truck show a few months ago, unsure if it is still there.

    That is awesome! I felt great talking to the original owners son of my LTH,,, Having a truck that your Dad bought new is priceless! There aren’t many of them around,, I’ve only seen about 5 . Thanks for sharing your story!

    H Model Mack Days for sure! I got to thinking about it and looked him up, My Dad bought a record from him. ( I have Dad’s cap , on a shelf,, just like the one Lonnie has on. ) All great memories from my childhood!

    Yep ,, That was one of their main routes to Chicago, Hauling Cigarettes from Winston Salem, I remember when the Silver Bridge fell , Dad knew one of the drivers, there was 2 Hennis trucks coming through, one got caught by a red light, the other was on the bridge, The driver in the sleeper didn’t make it, the driver swam out with a broken arm. I think they were in a F Model. I think I saw a picture somewhere of a Hennis fueling at the Lima truck stop,, One of the Hennis drivers wrote a song about that run from Winston to Chicago,, look it up it’s called “ Goosball Brown “

    A friend of my Dad’s has been working on this H 67 for a few years, he’s actually got it in pretty good shape, says he may paint it someday, He drives it to local Truck and Car shows during the summer,, he had it out today , I’m going to show him some pictures of yours, maybe it will inspire him to paint it. ( I have looked at the 5th wheel plate for years and I’m not sure of the purpose of the circle plate, I’ve never seen another one like it.)
