  1. I did......I used POR 15 in the seam to stop what rust still remained and then sealed the gap with automotive seam sealer.
  2. Got the frame back from the blasters, got it all primed and sanded. Forgot to take any pictures of that but.... Assembled a few larger components to make it easier to paint. Now the ole tanker frame is wearing a new coat of Gulf blue. Now the fun part of installing more shiny new parts!
  3. And speaking of restoration, just wondering everyone's opinion. Do you like to see a restoration job that is full of details such as newly plated bolts, screws, etc? Or the exact way it was done at the factory? (down and dirty hurry up and get it out) I noticed on my tanker truck after getting it down to the bare frame, EVERYTHING was assembled and then painted, all the wiring and plumbing for the airlines, heck , even the brakes had red paint on them. It's messy by today's restoration standards but it is %100 correct as done originally. Any thoughts or opinions?

Not to put another man's truck down, but I noticed some details that for a BIG $$ truck should have had a little more attention......such as the zip-tie holding the cable up as well as some items under the hood. But that is just my opinion. Guess it comes from restoring vehicles for most of my life. Both professionally and personally.

  6. 1964 Rambler American. Was a daily driver, runs excellent. Has been sitting since March of 2015. Very little rust. Located in Virginia. $2500 OBO. Can send more pictures if interested.

  8. Olsonsgaskets. com has a large selection of gaskets for antique engines. They can even make gaskets if needed.

  11. Thanks a ton for the information. The sheet is hard to read.....it looks like a smudged copy of a blurry copy of a fuzzy original.
  12. I have the sheet........if I read the numbers right......front axle is 4125AP Arrgt. FA505 P Rear is....5402 P Arrgt. RAS508
  13. I have done that with no luck yet. I haven't done an extensive search yet with the likes of NAPA or Car Quest . It is stamped with C/R and then the number. C/R is Chicago Rawhide I found out. They are unable to cross reference the number. I'll keep searching though.
  14. Does anyone know of a place to get the front and rear hub seals for a 1958 B-42? I haven't tried an all out search yet...I was wondering if anyone found a good place to get them without a whole lot of trouble.
  15. I tried that at first , but the more I hit on it , I could just see the axle flange shattering. I have seen it happen in the past. Luckily I finally saw what was holding everything tight.
  16. Found it!!! Small wedge shaped collars over the the center hub studs. Take them out and the hub comes right off. Thanks guys!
  17. Ok fellow Mack veterans.......how do I get the rear drums off? It looks like it would be the same process as my '72 f-250 where you take the bolts out of the center hub, slide the axle out and remove the drum that way. Everything is still tighter than Dick's hatband and I don't want to beat on anything for fear of breaking the casting somewhere. The six nuts are off of the "spider " as well.
