  1. By the look of the terrain getting stuck there my be the best thing that could of happened to the driver, I assume there is a road somewhere near the truck under all that white stuff? At least now it looks like they can dig him out and send him on his way, had he keep trying to go hard telling how he'd of ended up.
  2. I'm fairly confident that when/if obamas confronted with questions about the incident his reply will be something like...."its arrival on the communist island was the result of merely a series of mistakes" ...and most likely will present the Cuban leader with said missile as a gesture of their new found friendship, and maybe even send them down the warhead for that one along with a few more 'war ready' just just like it... so's not to 'break up a set' ...oh yeah, and then 'bow out'
  3. If what this administration is trying to do wasn't so serious it would be laughable.... "Congress and Senate only pass laws to get them reelected , I pass laws the we need with out their help or approval" "18, 19 and 20 year old children buying guns without their parents knowing" Are the "18, 19 and 20 year old children" the same ones that this Government Arms to the teeth and trains to be an 'Army of one' and sends to points unknown around the world to kill or be killed? or is he speaking of the "18, 19 and 20 year old children" that mommy and daddy are forced to treat as kids until their old enough (26) to have their first grand children? I just wish he could be a little more explicit when he tries screwing the law abiding citizenry of America...instead of speaking in riddles, I would liked to be talked to like an adult.
  4. This is what I like best about BMT, I can re-live the joys of long haul trucking without actually having to deal with the BS...I haven't been on the road since 98 and it's nice to see nothings changed. Just reading this makes me want to fuel up so I can get my free shower...if they ever get one cleaned.
  5. This was from the address: . "Congress and Senate only pass laws to get them reelected , I pass laws the we need with out their help or approval" "18, 19 and 20 year old children buying guns without their parents knowing" "33,000 Americans killed with guns and 2 out of 3 were suicides" Were does it fit in the numbers you post here?
  6. For $2500.00 I want him to throw in the 'cozy coupe' parked in front of it, probably fix that up and get it on the road for the grandchildren for a lot less out of pocket. If he goes for that I'd say even at the asking price it's a good deal.
  7. I get where you're coming from...to understand my point of view one has to hold the Federal Government at arms length, not embrace it...lets say you and I agree to disagree ..and leave it at that. Happy New year. 41chevy's post #12 pretty much sums up the reason I take the position I take in this matter. I can see more and more of Government railroading like this forthcoming... not less. jmho ..and I don't know where 41chevy gleaned his post from, but I doubt it was from 'the guardian'
  8. Let me know how you feel when YOUR property is in the Federal Governments sights. ....I didn't say I was against reasonable land preservation, I just don't believe the Federal Government has any business owning said land....Every square foot they confiscate/purchase/commandeer or obtain in one way or another is a square foot the American land owner/ taxpayer has to pay more property tax on the land they own just to hand the balance the bloated budgets of ALL facets of Government.
  9. The bigger question here is ...What is the Federal Government doing taking possession of state owned land to begin with? Although I don't agree with what these 'armed militia' are doing in Burn,Oregon, I disagree just as much or more with what the Federal Government is doing to the rights of the States and the people they represent. The federal Government needs to be scaled back and contained in what they were originally intended for......none of which was to take and possess state owned land that belongs to individual states and the people within those borders. I realize that to subscribe to this way of thinking one has to subscribe to the fact that "A Government that is big enough to give us everything. is big enough to take it all away" and except responsibility for ones own well being and not rely on Big Government to dictate (finance) how one lives their everyday lives.
  10. Welcome aboard, lots of great people and valuable information on this site.
  11. Yes, I owned on for five years in a 1980 Chevy Titian....It was Rated at 365HP when I bought it (it was in OK city and I flew down and drove it home to Maine) and I had it turned up to 435HP. If I recall those were the min/max HP of that engine if all was stock. It did run very well but.........4 miles to the gallon loaded or empty was the average mpg in the entire 5 years I ran it.
  12. Prayers sent up for all of those people in the way of the flood.
  13. Is this a trap? a trap to make me use ALL of my daily allowance of likes? I'll just BLANKET like any comments that are posted here because they do go fast on a post about our brainl.....er..fearless leader.
  14. How about a link to....or an web address to PAI, I googled it and got a financial advisory business...thanks in advance. Never mind.....I found it.
  15. Nice bunch of pics....sure is nice to see a big set like those in the first pic, and they make 'er look tough too. I thinking they maybe even help out the ride, usually they help the over all performance or at least it seems that way.
  16. I don't know the mileage from the points you mention,,,But if you do, and you figured $2.50 per mile and you were willing to wait for the hauler to pickup something to fill the trailer space with that you would be fairly close to the total. I used to be in the freight hauling business but not since 1998 so I'm really not up to speed on rates now.
  17. Mmmmmm, I guess time will tell if this is a good thing or a bad thing....in one sense it will be good to help the oil industry keep their labor force working but.....in another sense I'm not real comfortable sending the oil that we as a nation could refine and use domestically out of the country. But as we are seeing as of late keeping it all close to home has helped create a glut that has caused many, many wells to be capped, and that must mean the men working them are idle. Again, time will tell......
  18. If you don't put your money in the market, which I don't... why then is lower oil prices a bad thing? High oil prices destabilized MY market, the one I run my Business and household out of. I have noticed a BIG increase in my earth work business since oil prices dropped to reasonable levels and stayed there for longer than a few weeks, If the markets weren't allowed to dictate what our politicians do on a daily basis the rest of us would be far better off economy wise. I for one, feel that the day the politicians stopped making the speculators having to take possession of the oil they bought to resell and hold it for thirty days before doing so was the day the oil companies/ speculators started dictating what our economy does at any given time. Make them turn back the clock and hold the oil they buy for that thirty day period and the swings in oil prices will drop drastically.
  19. Now, now.....mustn't blame the 'hilderbeast' she has to be extra careful not to anger her voter base.
  20. I prefer my lizards natural........ like the other one pictured.
  21. No matter how much lipstick they (the obama admin.) put on this pig, it's still a taxpayer feed pig. Thank you Marco Rubio for taking on the task that the rest only put lip service to. The sooner this thing is dead and gone the sooner the parties can get together and tackle comprehensive insurance reform that has ALL people in the country that are using are paying their fair share into it. You can always tell who the liberals in the crowd are, they're the ones standing around with their hands in someone else's pockets
  22. For years oil was $30.00 bucks a barrel...Fuel was $1.00 a gallon, truck tires were $250.00 each and a tube of multi-purpose grease was.$.99. Then oil jumped to $140.00 a barrel and fuel went to $4.00 bucks a gallon, truck tires went to $500.00 each and a tube of multi-purpose grease went t $3.00 bucks a tube. Today oil is $37.00 a barrel, fuel is $2.59 a gallon, a Truck tire is $500.00 each and a tube of multi- purpose grease is $3.00......somebody is STILL making a piss pot full of money, and it ain't the consumer. I guess if you've been putting your disposable income into oil stock the past few years the low barrel prices are making you uneasy....if you're on the other end of the spectrum....not so much.
  23. I bet they're tripping over each other to get to that.......Oh wait, that has one too many zeros in the price, if he's gonna ask for more than it sold new for ...by about $30,000, he'd better drive it back into the barn and forget about it for another 40 years.
