when i bought my first diesel fuel was .34 cents a gallon. and gas was .42 cents. i remember filling up my 59 pontiac ventura from empty with a $5 bill. and having enough left over to take my girl to the movies, and buy 2 cokes and a box of popcorn.

i agree on both counts. i was discussing this with the boss this am, and i told he we have to raise rental rates $25 per hour to cover fuel and maintenance.

two trucks, each have 120 gallon tanks. and both were under 1/8 tank. so yesterday i filled both up. 210 gallons, at $5.899 per gallon. $1238.79

Paul, back in the good old days a 350 mack was indeed a "big dog" we has 237, and 285 hp in the DM. if you had an R model, you had the 300. only the road runners had 350's or V8's

you think that is bad, my 45-70 is over $1.75 per round last i looked. i paid $1.15 per for the 500 round i have left three years ago. i also was lucky last week. $347 for 1000 rounds of 9MM

08 was bad. i knew a lot of companies that went under. 2012 was almost as bad. this year i think is going to be another company killer due to fuel costs. we are sorta glad it took 18 months to build the new trucks. we are only taking the tandem, and already sold the T880 triaxle.
