  1. nothing beats the old mack 4-52 air conditioning.... except for real AC
  2. and another 3000 from the ford site!! for about 20 years there was a 3000 box truck sitting in a loading dock used for storage in a box plant in bergen county nj. i always wanted to stop and ask about it, but at the time did not have the funds to undertake that project. 5 years ago i was finally in a place where i had spare cash to take on restorations on a truck and drove up there. the company went out of business, sold everything and the truck was sold to a scrap yard three weeks before. i went to the yard and they cut it up as soon as it came in the yard.
  3. the trailer may have some value to it, but the truck is a MS series. combination of renault parts with a mack name. parts are hard to come by, and they troublesome. you may be able to find someone who wants it for parts.
  4. just saw this pic posted on the ford forum in thread vintage pics of days gone by. a White 3000 in the lower left corner:
  5. we used to take the hoods of the old DM's until cops started giving us a hard time. so the mechanic made top covers without sides. didn't really help though, they were still ovens inside the cab.
  6. the new trucks get great fuel mileage. my new Kenworth with 600cummins and allison auto trans will see 10 mpg on long interstate highway runs. even loaded in city it sees 6-7 mpg. far better than the 5 on the road and 3 in city of the 99 mack with 400 and 8ll trans. so i have no doubt that in a properly designed diesel/electric unit they could not see 15+ mpg like BobWhite says
  7. i aint quite that old!!! but i do remember 6 volt positive ground... and 25 mph speed limit when loaded.
  8. i remember plowing in the B-815, and DM-800's. if you were not wearing arctic deep freeze suits, you froze in those trucks. best air conditioning i ever had in a truck..... and the heaters were just as good in the summer. get in weighing 225 lbs and get out after running asphalt for 10 hours weighing 215 lbs.
  9. my friend had a White 9000 tandem tractor he pulled his lowboy with for 25 years until he passed away in 2017. 290 cummins and 10 speed trans. guy out of Connecticut bought it and was tickled pink to be able to get it. said he was going to put it back to work for his paving company.
  10. tell her to stop looking at it then... problem solved!
  11. for black history month, we should recognize the worlds richest african american:
  12. are you talking about Back In Black Pulling Larry? he runs a slightly tweaked black V8 superliner.
  13. listing is pulled, so it must have sold already
  14. i would say new trans, i would imagine a diesel will have way too much torque for the gas trans in the truck and will tear it up in no time.
  15. 2 superliners. one with hood and one without hood.
  16. Bob. here in jersey blue cross/blue shield partnered with medicare and created Braven Health. basically the same thing as a high quality blue cross policy, but it only costs what Medicare pays. just something to look into.
  17. i hate you....... you know damn well i am on a diet!!!
  18. my 88 R had air ride cab from the factory.
  19. such a shame. i hope the police officer is ok.
  20. looks like they took design ideas from ford, dodge, and gm, mixed them together, and said this is the new truck. looks kinds like something a three year old would design with photochop
  21. go outside, and beat your head against a concrete block wall repeatedly for about 10 minutes. you will fell betterrer, i promise.
  22. or knock some sense into you.........🤪
  23. my "break in" ride looked just like this: fire engine red 49 international L-190 with the big 501 CID red diamond 6 cylinder gas engine and a quad box.
