  1. agreed. i got a complaint yesterday that my garage was too big for the area and was blocking the view of the waterfront. by the asterisk that built a massive 3 story mcmansion down the street. not my fault you built a $750,000 moneypit in an area full of $130,000 propertys.
  2. if the turbo ain't working, it will look like a steam locomotive going down the road with all the black smoke pouring out of the exhaust.
  3. if it was, it ain't there any more, as greystone was knocked down in 2016
  4. post is 8 months old, and the ad is long expired. so i would safely say it is also long sold.
  5. i have no problem with that either, since i don't have a wi-fi.
  6. the difference between the green one and the white one is age. old were green, new are white.
  7. my bet is the site has sulfuric acid contamination, and they are tilling lime into it to neutralize the acid.
  8. never said everyone should carry at all times. if you do not feel carrying a weapon is your thing, that is your prerogative. but i will still defend you against bad guys if needed. i simply said that "gun free zones" as said are free range shooting galleries for the bad guys, and i refuse to go into an establishment that has a "gun free zone" sign on the door. i have carried either a 38 or 45 concealed for over 40. and have used my concealed carry weapon numerous times to defend myself and others, also to assist law enforcement officers. i also agree with swift justice, but the snowflakes of the world these days feel coddling is better than punishing. as long as criminals know that they will only get a slap on the wrist for their crimes they will continue without fear.
  9. ever notice that mass shootings only happen in "gun free zones" ?
  10. oh, ok. if it was in Greenfield in 2016, then it was not Al's cause i did not sell it until January of 2017.
  11. that looks an awful lot like my buddy Al's truck we sold two years ago after he passed away. it did not come from New Jersey, did it?
  12. in jersey tandem barrel trucks carry 10 yards. a lot of companies are going to front discharge triaxles though.
  13. that looks like an old rear packer garbage truck with top mount hydraulic tank.
  14. around here, silt fence has to be up before a shovel is allowed on the property!
  15. except now they do not put up the white picket fence before pouring the foundation.
  16. 35 years ago a friend was getting into paving and was looking for used equipment to save a little money. i knew one of the local contractors was selling a roller and a few trucks, so i took Al to see him. when he said 10 grand for the 1958 Galion 6 ton rollomatic roller, i knew he was having a bad day and said see ya later. he was normally a nice guy, but for some reason he would not sell that damn roller. for about 5 years whenever we asked about it he said "10 grand. take it or leave it. i got it , you want it. pay my price or get out" in 1990 he died, and later that year they held an auction. we bought that roller, a 1980 F350, 1989 eager beaver 10 ton tag along trailer and a 1980 Autocar tandem dump for $4,500. at the end of the auction when we were paying, his daughter came up to us and told us she was glad we got the roller and trucks, because if we did not buy them they most likely would have gone to the scrap yard. we later found out the F350 and dump trucks both had brand new engines in them. the 350 blew the engine due to lack of oil and only had 500 miles on the engine, truck only had 22,000 miles on it. autocar had a brand new 390 cummins in it. the truck was hit the year before and the car cracked the block when it hit the front axle. new front axle and engine, then it was never put back on the road, but used to empty the asphalt plant. 125 miles on the engine, and 94,000 miles on the truck all were still in use when Al died from a heart attack last year.
  17. who did you talk to, Vince or Tom? very OLD family run company. they ran cardboard box supplies for a company out of Perth Amboy in the off season. i have known the family most of my life, and the sister is married to me best friend.

  19. if you look closely you can see the "short door" on the driver side that opens above the fender platform. the door ends at the lower hinge.
  20. they are still available new, but costly: http://www.sirenworld.com/roto-ray-warning-light/
  21. i noticed that too. but seeing as the truck is 62 years old, it very well could have had a gas engine transplanted in it when the original diesel died.
  22. remember, pictures or it never happened!!
  23. no. fan clutch not locking will cause no ac condition at idle or while not moving. the ac needs airflow over the condenser to work. if the fan clutch is constantly locked it will be blowing air over the condenser cooling the refrigerant. i would suspect low refrigerant level. with the ac on, is the clutch engaged?
  24. slag pot carrier, also called slag kettle haulers. here is a short video of one in action after the molten steel is poured the slag is dumped into a pot or kettle that is picked up by that machine, and hauled out to the slag pit where it is dumped to cool off so it can be crushed and sold for as road construction base instead of stone.
