  1. Yes, they can stay with the truck, but IDK if it can be transferred anymore and come back as high. Lower 7 county permits were always different. All I know is over the years all my statewides lost weight, and I don't personally know anyone who applied and was turned down (lottery system) . I'm a little curious to know what you're asking myself.
  2. An 11 22 in tubeless would be a 12 24.5 if you change to tubeless 11 24.5 is a popular size, but would actually be a hair smaller than an 11 22 . Doubt anyone would really notice.
  3. I don't think you can do that anymore. Something about only the entire company ??? Back in the '90s ??? easily a five digit figure, now ??? IDK if they die with the truck now, or what. There's been so many changes.
  4. They weren't very effective. Better chance of one of those damaging the turbo , than adding much stopping power. All they really did was preload the valve so the Jake could bump it open a little later ( bigger lash ) . Not very effective on an E7.
  5. Yes, that's an old Stealth Brake . (exhaust brake) . Probably not worth trying to repair at this point.
  6. 🤷🏻‍♂️ If he would, then it's not for sale
  7. Used to be common on packers, or DOT macks with a plow. Unless you find just the right stuff in somebody's way....not any cheap way to do it.
  8. I have one I'll sell ya. $18000.00
  9. If you're not looking for more weight capacity (that the 315s have) Maybe you could just use a 12/24.5 ? It'd be a little bit bigger tire and you wouldn't need much other than to just change the tires. Not sure the availability of those as steers anymore either, but they did exist at one time.
  10. You have to wonder with rising interest rates and more and more places not wanting the older trucks how long the used market will stay like it is. I don't see any substantial rise in trucking rates that goes along with cost of equipment. Then there's the cost of drivers. Between the money one costs and the return you get for that money ??? Doesn't seem like it can go on like that for smaller for hire carriers. 300 K for a dump truck..... to even approach the money to pay for it, it'd be worn out in two or three years. Then there's the finding someone to work on them. (same story) Dealer thinks nothing of keeping the truck for weeks . Name of this thread is very accurate.
  11. That same truck would be another 50 K right now, and that's if you can get it. Prices have gone nuts. Even used ones, price is unbelievably high
  12. No. I'm saying for the price to drop that much for a new one, everything else would need to drop to ( for whatever reason)
  13. 80-90 grand ? I wouldn't get my hopes up. Even if it did, trucks'd be get'n paid $70.00/hour then. Typical Jersey big power crossmemberless steel body dump truck will be around 300K and a aluminum body one around 320. The price of them is insanity. A nice daycab tractor is easily over 250K. Who is it that's make'n the money to afford these ?
  14. Lots of the Detroits used a Spicer of some form . 8516 was a popular one (or some variation of the 12 or 16 speed)
  15. I'm serious. Can you picture some hotshot used to a ISX and an 18 trying to operate a Small Cam with a RTO 12513. Forget about something like a 673 and a quad
  16. It's over. At this point you couldn't hardly find a guy that can drive a truck with a manual transmission like an 18 speed in something with power who could drive something old with a Big Cam and an old 13 speed and keep it moving.
  17. Yep. One didn't know, the other one noticed the switch for the rears and assumed it was for the transmission.
  18. They didn't know what this was on a ten speed.
  19. Two of them. One didn't know what it was cause it had an acrylic knob and and old 3546. Then the other on figured the range valve was in the dash. (selector for the two speed rears) It was there for a shifting issue, guy said that was the problem, should never be that way, or even made with that set up in the first place . !!!! nothing at all to do with the engine brake staying on !!!! then he drove it again.... it was going in gear with the same enthusiasm as an 18 year old's pecker in a willing girlfriend. Looks at me and says " I don't see anything wrong " Then I was the @$$ hole for not let'n him drive it back. Need less to say, I ended up at another dealer 🤣
  20. Jo jo...... they call one with that stick a "shifter truck" and I've heard some interesting conversations about how the guy went home cause they wanted to put him in a shifter truck. I could tell you a really funny story about my Peterbilt at the dealer and the test drive debacle.
  21. Is that the new one from the picture ? or just another one same spec ? Either way, looks like a very expensive mishap , let alone it isn't doing any work for all this time. holy cow.... what a waste .
  22. They're not that bad (cost) if you break it down to cents per mile. You fix it now and freshen it up, it'll last for years. I've found on the trucks with a "C" cab (CH CL CT) it's worth the effort to get gas shocks for the cab and make sure the front cab mounts are in good shape. They're no air ride, but those trucks ride better than comes to mind. Especially if it has some nice fresh taper leafs in the front. and new springs in the back, you'll see an improvement you didn't even realize was missing over the time it took to wear out the ones you're replacing.
  23. Bob, looking at your Mack I can't figure out.... what was that truck before ? Doesn't look like it was a tractor.
  24. Dump work ?? do yourself a favor and just put new springs in. Longest way sometimes turns out to be the shortest .
