Good work, wouldn't of thought a heater would be of much use in a truck without a roof But the heater looks the part Great work Paul -
I would think the main difference is the injector pump settings The chassid mounted cooler types had higher ratings of hp etc I'm sure there are other minor changes but I think the motors are basically the same Paul

The Australian Army Macks could only of been Tip Turbine as chassis mounted intercoolers werent even a Mack thing at the time I doubt a Flintstone has ever had a chassis mounted intercooler in Australia Paul -

I watched this today, as I recall this era It was awe inspiring to all around the world The world dared to dream and have a crack at the impossible Today there's Bonnie Blue shagging 1000 men in 24 hours How has this happened The bloody woke brigade lowering everyone to the lowest common denominator Learning fractions at school has paid dividends These fine men inspired the world to be the very best it could be I reckon JFK was like that, be the very best you that you can be And yes, watch the whole video, so much more interesting and worthwhile than the click bait rubbished pushed Good job Buzz Aldrin and Zoey What a wonderful world we once had were we inspired all around us to be the best they could be I do often think of Paul Harvey's words "I believe in my god, my country and myself" Paul

If you are still struggling and with no result I know of a way that works really well and it doesn't involve burning the tyre off But the tyre is no good for anything afterwards A Stanley knife and a good blade Just cut the wall off, I have done this before, yes it does work I cut closer to the tread side first Then once the tread is off Cut the tube and rust band off Then with whats left cut the wall down near the rim off Now there's only the bead left Rim and the remaining tyre are on a bench while I do this bit With a wire wheel on your angle grinder, start on the inside of bead The wire thats in the band appears quick enough, cold chisel or angle cutting disc and cut the bead The remaind of the tyre drop pretty shortly after that I have needed this on crappy old farm gear thats been sitting full with water and mud and crap and the rims rusted and expanded I'm sure all you muscle men don't have to go the limp dick way like this, but for me, well needs must occasionally Paul -
R model Dashboard Repair

It has a padded dash ? I have never seen a padded dash in R model A few different people make new dashes, but if your not in Australia they will be of no use to you as they are RHD Paul -
Torsion bars are much better if they are working right Nice and simple Trying to tilt a little Isuzu last night, my ring was fairly hanging out Got all the stuff from behind the seat out and chucked it on the floor Straight up and over Paul

E6, setting injection timing via pulse adapter
mrsmackpaul replied to Full Floater's topic in Engine and Transmission
That is good news Spill timing is fairly good but like using a set of feeler guages or calipers, it's a fairly individual thing Great news it worked for you Paul -

Tyre art for the garden, the very height of sophistication in 1960's and 70's Australia The very best was the Swan made out of a tyre and some nice flowers growing in it Paul -
Cummins "Low flow" system, in a nutshell
mrsmackpaul replied to Geoff Weeks's topic in Other Truck Makes
WOW, this my learnt thing for this week Having the coolant in tiptop condition would be critical I would think There's a huge amount going in in those motors and their cooling system Maybe Mack had a patent on the tip turbine idea and Cummins and other manufacturers had to have a different approach Tip turbines biggest draw back is you can't build big boost, 21 pounds is sort of the max and you have to be pulling pretty hard and that boost is only for a short amount of time 15 - 17 is sort of normal Get to a chassis mounted intercooler and I read of blokes getting 35 pounds boost Thanks Geoff, very educational Paul -
I don't think any F600's made it to Australia F700's yes, they had a drive shaft for steering running across the dash, under a cover etc so it didn't stand out Then like pretty much every Mack built over the next 40 years in Australia, the R model chassis was used, long after everyone else in the world The R model chassis lent itself to RHD conversion much better than anything else Mack has built, the frame rail shape So CH Macks had a R model chassis out here The F 700 became the FR 700, F cab R chassis Paul

Very good Bob, you've got it by the balls now Paul -
They appear to be a impressive well optioned truck Air ride front axle and yet Kenworth still only offer springs in their front end on COE K220 Air ride front axles have been standard on interstate buses since the late 70's early 80's in Australia It would probably sell well out here Paul

So you sprayed and let it soak in really good, nearly a weeks worth of soaking Summer is about half done Winter is just around the corner, just letting you know that Anyway, I'm guessing the progress has been so great you haven't had time to stop and share So how is it coming along, anything to report ? Paul -
And yet our close neighbors in NewZealand had a bigger range of Macks as some were Australian based and some fully imported from the U.S. RHD Seems to be no rhyme nor reason to how it all went Anyways, back the build Oh I think 675 was the biggest power output of the E9 offered in Australia Paul
