  1. And intercooler would have to be filtered If something happened to the valve that feeds the turbine you could easily suck dirty air into the motor Paul
  2. I think you all are missing the big issue here, the motor is sucking unfiltered air back thru the intercooler There's nothing to stop air entering the intercooler outlet and through the intercooler backwards and straight through to the motor I'm thinking the air will take the path of the least resistance Maybe the turbine is so loud because when it is been driven it is driving against air that's already going the wrong way Paul
  3. Yeah, I feel.Mack did use a redish primer Whats up with the doors? Paul
  4. Yes, if I was to buy and import it to Australia I could never get it registered as the looneys running the show have made a rule that any heavy vehicle over 10 years of age imported into Australia isn't allowed to be registered Rule change came into effect July 2024 Apparently that's gunna save the world Paul
  5. They do say we should follow our hearts If it was what I wanted, I probably would just buy it Life has enough regrets already without adding "I regret buying that almost new 1984 R model in 2025" Paul
  6. Will have to see if I can find this to watch it While I'm dicking about looking for it, have a ganda at this Or maybe this Or some other brand of who ha Paul
  7. Well hope you had a great day Stuff a few ANZAC biscuits in your gob, I'm chucking a couple in my.gob to celebrate for you https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anzac_biscuit 🥳🍻🦘 Paul
  8. Pretty sure it wasn't lined or pin striped back then, just the base colours Guessing this bloke has bought it then and personalized it Yes it's a lotta coin, but were else are you gunna buy one like it I seam to recall the seat had some story behind it Maybe the new seat was swapped with another truck in the fleet, but it was a genuine deal last time and maybe 10,000 miles then No matter, it was very low mileage Paul
  9. Good for you, it was ANZAC day in Australia today, you can Google if you like I was out topping a paddock for winter and the weather man got it right Wet through by the time I got back to the ute and off the tractor Came home, got dry and "POOF" just like that, hours had past So watched Burt Reynolds in the movie "White Lightning" Then bed time I'm gunna be bloody hopeless if I ever retire More rain today, recliner chair is looking comfy Paul
  10. Well this isnt tyhis trucks first rodeo, it was on here once before many years ago Was purchased new with maybe 1/2 dozen others at the time Reckon it was a bit less coin, so maybe the purchaser then is selling it now Not a bad deal to me, rust free double rail chassis, rust free cab, virtually a brand new truck You'll never be able to get another one that good and original Paul
  11. I made the interior for my bucket of bolts out of gasket paper 1/4 inch roll, glued vinyl to it, sort of scored it were it had to bend on corners etc Must be 7 or 8 years ago now, no dramas I used gasket paper because it can handle water and oil just fine and hopefully will never fall apart Good job on the gasket building Paul
  12. It's a long drive to Australia, arrived all safe and sound, the stork never got lost A big thankyou to the team at Watts on my new delivery And I guess I should be passing out cigars to celebrate the new arrival to my family Paul
  13. Just easier to concrete the garden and put a shed on it, not gunna suggest it to the Princess She gets angry enough with me as it is I'll keep my eyes peeled for the post when the rocker covers are back on and it's running like a clock Paul
  14. Try turning the motor over by hand, socket and breaker bar on the bolt on the front of the crank If it has spring breaks/maxi cans, it won't roll when you tried to pull it Paul
  15. I don't remember any of these, I have never seen a radio fitted were it's meant to be in Australia I had no idea what plastic cover was for until some years ago and I learnt about a vertical radio on the forum Radios were screwed to the top of dash normally until overhead consoles became comman and the radios ended in them with a CB and later a UHF radio Paul
  16. I wouldn't say mine is loud, can't hear it over the rest of the noise when coasting Is there a hole and vent cut into the left hand side inner wheel guard, wheel well I think you all call them Anyway, they normally have a big vent cut in there to let the noise and air out Paul
  17. I would think so, I can't think of any other to get the rocker covers off Tip turbine and the pipe work is pretty simple to remove Paul
  18. I have never heard of them before either I did find this, a modern radio with a older look about it https://www.retrosoundusa.com.au/index.php?l=product_detail&p=3518 Paul
  19. That's pretty much every Australian work site that I have ever worked on Paul
  20. Happy birthday to you blokes Paul
  21. Need a wire wheel like this on a grinder Really work well and bite right in, always wear overalls or coveralls or what ever you call them Or a leather apron Had a mate using a wire wheel on a grinder Went for a pee, a wire had come off the wheel and gone through his clothing and fore skin of his old fella, ouch Paul
  22. Ah, everything cooked to golden black Perfect, nothing like a bit of charcoal to keep the insides regular I get the same report from my wife and family friends when were having a get together Paul
  23. Oh dear, first world problems You can tell we don't have enough to worry about when people worry about this Did you know that day lights saving was a NewZealand invention ? Apparently some government worker liked to chase butterflies or bugs of some description and daylights saving gave him more time after work to go on butterfly watching trips It's a funny old world, the stuff we worry about is ridiculous at times Paul
