  1. the little doo hickys that hang off the bottom of the air rams sounds like the reverse one isnt in the selector fork sounds like you need to lift the lid and have another go by memory it hangs on a angle and can be a bugger and involve some new language and can take a few goes or at least it has with me I only stick one or two bolts in the lid and just blow some air down the air lines to make sure its ok and working before fully assembling again Paul
  2. mate to me the biggest thing is rust in the cab or in between the chassis rails over in the states so if it has rust its worth no were near as much to me as it can be huge job to fix next biggest down side is if the E9 V8 needs rebuilding it's gunna cost some big bickies to fix after everything seems to drop of in price so with these simple things in mind need to look at those things first
  3. I think we are talking about the same thing we just use different names here than you do there if that makes any sense log trailers are called timber jinkers out here the pole in the middle I have always known as the the pole the bits that go at right angles to the logs that the logs sit on are called bolster's like a lot of things different names for different parts of the world Paul
  4. mate send 1Mack1 a PM he has them on his R model and when I was yacking to him at Rocklea truck show I asked about them and he knows were to get them most likely the wrong part of the world but never know Barry may be able to help to get something state side Paul
  5. fantastic stuff I wonder why he came to Mack Australia to get it done and not the US maybe we are much more flexible in Australia at building custom trucks from new ??? flash bit of gear plenty of power to not sure the white leather would last very long being white with me LOL well done Mack Australia Paul
  6. well it would make a good Santas sleigh so I hope youve been good all year and you never know what might turn under the tree Paul
  7. notice the pole in the timber jinker is a full pole not a piece of sawn wood great photo's reckon you would be have white knuckle fever the first few times going down the hill Paul
  8. that little doodah thingy is meant to come out with the air line I think you'll find and all the plastic air lines are meant to have one in them to stop them collapsing when you do them up Just use some long cir clip pliers should have it out in jiffy I think Paul
  9. Vlad I find Mack trucks Australia very good to deal with nothing seems to be to much trouble for them maybe its the local lads lasses that work at Townsville but they go the extra mile for me or at least thats what I feel compared to what I read on here with the US dealers and older gear Paul
  10. Just had a look at some paper work Australia still used the R model chassis until 2008 CH and CL were CHR and CLR the Metroliner had the R model chassis CHR CLR Metroliner plus no doubt a whole lot more Thinking about the bonnets in NZ I reckon they would have been made in NZ to save on import dutys or some thing along those lines Paul
  11. Hmmm I now know how baby Peterbilts are made Paul
  12. well it looks nice and tall now does Max find it a bit more gutless to drive with the taller gearing ??? Paul
  13. now thats a view from inside the house and look at street appeal now Paul
  14. Yeah Doug the R model chassis was used on just about everything down here right up until 2000 and something Im not sure of the year but could find out it fitted in for RHD drive trucks much better than any other chassis Mack had Paul
  15. ok got a picture of my orange coolpower dunno what all this colour stuff means all numbers and what have you dunno what they all mean al I know is it is 320 coolpower I believe it's a Thermodyne but pulls right down to 1100 or 1200 not a problem I have been told in Australia some of the 320's were tuned if that is the correct word to have the torque curve of a maxidyne dunno how true this is maybe someone else knows Its the only orange one I have seen I have seen Gold motors grey motors black ones and green ones so I dunno and I dunno what the yellow is under the orange the transmission is orange as well but has no yellow All the numbers are original to the truck so who knows Paul
  16. Ha ha not enough mega bites in the brain like me to many threads to many systems the brain just isnt meant to handle so much Paul
  17. I never new what BA was short for it was used on a lot of electrical stuff out here 2 BA was the most common I have come across try going into a bolt shop here and asking for a BA bolt or nut they think Im swearing at them LOL Paul
  18. it looks like a pretty place but also looks like it gets really cold as well Paul
  19. so Swishy does NZ have its own Mack plant ??? I didnt know that might explain some things I have wondered about NZ Macks Paul
  20. phew I dunno much about all this Series 1 Superliners are a much better looking truck I feel I wonder if NZ had different headlight requirements than Australia some of the cool power R models were different than Aussie ones and had the bonnet scoops unlike the Aussie ones that had 2 aircleaners I am not sure all NZ Macks came from Australia Im fairly sure a few came from the US direct as did other makes as well so maybe at different times Mack NZ could get better deals from the US than Australia a lot of maybes and guesses here most are likely to be wrong LOL Paul
  21. Gudday and welcome Paul
  22. Welcome Amado sounds like you have had a good eye for a great brand of truck Paul
  23. dunno Vlad when the super liner 2 came out one of the features I was lead to believe was the fact that the cab was lifted up I think it was 2 1/2 inches or maybe it was 3 1/2 inches to try and keep the cab cooler When you are pulling hard all day in the older R model the cab floor gets so hot you cant touch any of it with bare skin it burns the bahjeebers out of you So maybe when the cab was lifted they made the mud guards hang down a bit further and the headlights to comply as well dunno all a guess from me Paul
