  3. we have a few dirt roads all main highways are sealed bitumen Australia is very flat with a long way between towns once you 150km in from the east coast 100's of km between towns But Australia has a bigger area of snow then Switzerland !!! a fact I only recently learnt Paul
  4. lazy axels arent very common in Australia all suspension must be load sharing and I believe (but could be wrong) that back in the days of lazy axles and the load sharing requirement too many trucks would get stuck in driveways as lifting axles werent allowed because the load sharing part of the rules wouldnt have applied and since those days in the 70's they have never really caught on a few got sold but not many maybe 1 in 50 or 1 in 100 trucks at the most Paul
  5. aprons are always handy I reckon you can work on stuff out side hose stuff before it goes into the shed and helps to keep the shed nice and clean as well at least on the floor Paul

  8. first you got work out what the problem is I agree sounds like its sucking air have a real good look along all fuel lines for some damage maybe something has come off the governor inside the injector pump but I would check the obvious things first If you cant find a air leak hook a small drum of fuel hang it up high and try to see if you can get it to run like that Paul

  17. I was speaking to a bloke that goes over to the states quite often and he reckons there are more Macks running on Australian roads than US roads and I think he may be right they seem to be everywhere over here he reckons you hardly see any new Macks in the states Maybe the US can learn some lessons from their Australian cousins but I doubt that the powers that be would even listen to what goes on out here Paul

  21. Welcome to the forum could be a number of things but I would start with simple things first is the air regulator hooked up the correct way ?? did something get in the air lines when the box was out and cause a blockage ? if you apply shop air strait to the air ram on the box does it shift ok ??? Paul

  23. welding heads was once very common in todays throw away world not so common you would have to find the right place most head reconditioning places should be able to point you in the right direction Once a head is welded if you really cook the motor again the crack will open up I think it has to do with different expansion rates of materials but if you dont cook the motor they last forever depending on were the crack is it is very common on cool powered Macks to have cracks but they still work fine As to your question dunno the answer, looks no one else does either might just have to try it and find out Paul
