  6. does it have a waste gate ??????? if a turbo diesel motor doesnt make boost there is really on three reasons turbo is stuffed lack of fuel (you need the fuel to make the boost) or lack of air (air cleaner blocked or a leak in the air system and the compressed air is leaking out) it really is that simple would be surprised if it has a waste gate at all I have never noticed a waste gate on large diesel turbo motors If you can hear air escaping as the boost builds that would be a pretty good indication of a leak somewhere I would think Paul
  7. cool stuff harry or at least I think it all is thanks for the update and I wonder will any further information arise about the truck ???? Paul

    jake brake

I gotta agree makes a sound but not much more There is a fella out here who reckons he modified the Dynatard and they worked much better I have never heard anymore about it maybe worth looking into ???? I guess all that has to happen is the hydraulic stroke needs to be made shorter so the valve is more closed off increasing the compressor effect maybe one day when I have nothing to do I will look into this This bloke reckons he removed a O ring and the effect was apparent, he thought he had a problem of three or not working right as it turned those three or 4 were working right and the other two werent but worked more like a jake brake when he had them all apart two were missing a O ring and he didnt know which way it had to be with the extra O ring or with out he found out it was meant to be with the O ring but then the Dynatard was useless so he pulled the O rings out and reckons it works like a Jake brake now Paul
  9. I got sent a email today quit concerning really because wrongly or rightly the US economy has a effect on the Australian economy interesting to know people from the US thoughts on this but I think what has happened and is about to happen to the US has to because you cant allow this to carry on if its true ??? Paul

  12. Vlad the Thermodyne motors can be driven like a Maxidyne just fine I have had problems with the splitter on the 12 speed once grossing 90 ton drove 3000 km with just the 5 gears and up some big long climbs they the Thermodynes that is will lug right down to 1100 and I just kept a eye on pyrometer and the Thermodyne would hang on at 12 revs for hours at a time with out it getting to hot on the pyrometer so I just let it lug So I guess what Im saying if my old bucket of bolts can hang on for hours at a time grossing 90 ton I reckon bobtail or even just a normal single trailer it would be fine with a five speed Before I went changing anything I would drop the nine speed apart and see whats crook in side they are fairly simple transmissions to work on and theres not a lot to go wrong Roland great video mate I find I get much better air flow in the cab with only one window open as I think both windows the air pressure seems to equal out and I end up with bugger all air flow Paul
