UPDATE 08/10/2015: The rig has been delivered and is currently at the local dealer here in Southeastern Pa. undergoing equipment mounting, having punchlist items taken care of, and getting the graphics and gold leaf applied. When everything is all mounted up and the graphics and gold leaf are on, I'll take some of my own pics and post here. The plan is to have everyone trained and the truck in service by September 1. In the meantime, here are the official factory delivery photos.....All photos courtesy of Ferrara Fire Apparatus -

I had an underground nest of bumble bees a few weeks ago. I got the big-assed (thats a highly technical term for "large") pasta pot and boiled up some water and went out there at night and poured it all down the hole. Figured the little bastards were done. Nope. Now I have Zombie Bumble Bees and a big 1' diameter brown circle of dead grass smack in the middle of my nice green yard.

Love that Hayward R-Model -
Well, as I was in the minivan, I was suffering from Altitude Deficiency. Plus I think that SWMBO (sitting next to me the whole time) might'a had an issue with me taking pictures of girls in cars even if I weren't suffering from Altitude Deficiency. But since you asked, here is the usual pic of SWMBO and two of her friends.

I saw this Greyhound asleep on my sofa. I saw this beach resort town called Carolina Beach from the bridge on NC 421 over Snow's Cut I saw this sweatshirt at Fort Fisher National Military Historic Site so I bought it. Good thing I did, because I forgot to pack one and the air conditioning in the place we were staying got rather chilly at night. I found this on Kure Beach, NC near Fort Fisher. It's either a piece of Fulgarite, a prehistoric sex toy, or a fossilized turd. I saw two CH-53 Super Stallions descending into Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina. I saw the Beirut Memorial near the main gate to Camp Lejune. I was only 10 when it happened but I remember it. Wanted to see it and pay my respects.

I had no idea he had that many road tractors, they were well hidden by trees and box truck bodies. That B-Rollback.....I am salivating.....That would look good restored with an FWD on the deck. -

OD, this is literally 10 minutes from my house and I pass it every day on the way to/from work. I didn't know there was an auction there at all until Weds AM when I was driving to work and came around the curve and saw all the cars parked on the side and people running around on the property- The owner must have died because I stopped there about 4 or 5 years ago to ask if I could go on the property to look at an old White-Freightliner single screw cabover. I was walking towards the house and the second I stepped foot on his front walk he starts screaming for me to get the eff off his property and he ain't selling shit and this and that............Wow never any of those B's- were hidded by trees and truck bodies. He did have quite a few buses too but a lot of them looked too old and wasted away to be able to do anything with. A shame. Betcha a lot of that stuff gets shredded and we're all shaving with them this time next year. -

The end is in sight. The salesman was in the plant today and found several items which will require attention and a punch list has been created. Our final inspection team departs Wednesday for a Thursday/Friday inspection, not Tuesday as I mistakenly reported the other day. Truck is tentatively scheduled to depart Holden, La on Tuesday with arrival in Hatfield Pa (The dealer) on Thursday where it will receive a Pa State Inspection, a wash and some other misc. items. It will then be driven to the firehouse where it will be available for inspection by members and the general public on Friday 7/31 until Monday 8/3 when it and the 1989 Duplex/Quality Engine 11-1 will return to the dealer for equipment swap/mounting. I always use 80/20 ground beef and add a tube of Bob Evans sage sausage.

Yes. Smoke inhalation in your sleep is the merciful way to go. Doesn't take away from the pain of losing your friend though.

I have never smoked meat before but the more I see it being done the more intrigued I become. I just put a 10lb pork shoulder in a crock pot of barbecue sauce and spices at 11pm for tomorrow afternoon's dinner. Gonna shred it into pulled pork. Have a few buddies coming over after the firetruck show.

https://www.flickr.com/photos/triborough/7868646304/ Link to our 2007 Spartan/Toyne which has the front bumper line as well. Hose is stored in a "trough" recessed into the bumper and secured with two seat belt-like straps. You can see the discharge on the right with the gated wye.
