  1. Carl, I am pretty sure I saw on here (not too long ago) that these guys had to beg, steal and borrow just to get this one........
  2. Hey if the old lady kicks me to the couch I gotta have SOME way to keep warm!!!
  3. Pop came back a few hours later and had this to say: "Lots of possibilities, none good, none cheap. Bent shift fork is one. Whoever the brainiac is that did it shouldn't be driviing a car, let alone a fire truck. Recommend to your contact there to call Waterous at 651 450 5200. Follow prompts for service questions. Anyone in that group should be able to help. Make sure he has the pump serial number and the chain case serial number."
  4. you can sleep on my couch.....if you shave your legs first because thats where I'll be too snuggling up against you......lol
  5. Actually I mis-wrote my post...I have seen water tankers with bunks before, but they were privately-owned/contract water tanker fire trucks used on large wildfires.
  6. I've never seen a water tanker with a sleeper before- whats the history of the truck, what was it used for??? Was it perhaps one of those privately-owned/contract water tanker fire trucks used on wildfires out west????????
  7. Pop says: "The YBX is the model of the transfer case. The pump is either a CM, CMU, CS or CSU, not that it matters. Most Macks had CMU. FDNY trucks usually had CMs. The Y series transfer cases were chain driven. So the first question has to be, does the truck move all right when it's in "Road" mode? If so, is there any noise when it's moving. I never heard of a chain breaking, but there's a first time for everything. Later on when I go up to the firehouse I'll look in my Waterous stuff and also look under E11-1 to see if I can see anything obvious."
  8. The lad is right. We certainly dont want to get Ben and Vinnies rights to come on here taken away, we have "two youts" here whom we all have an opportunity to help foster their interest in our hobby. We all know the vast majority of kids today are a bunch of blubbering idiots and that it's hard to find young people interested in trucks. ....It would suck if their folks put the brakes to coming on here....Let these guys' minds get tarnished and varnished at their own speeds, not with the accelleration provided by a bunch of dirty old men. Ben, I will refrain from posting stuff like that in the future, however 2-stroke jokes are still fair game.
  9. 1. You can call Waterous and give them the pump serial number (on the plate on the pump panel) and they will send you a serial number specific manual with a parts breakdown for FREE. 2. Sounds like "wonder boy's" last department had a PTO pump maybe, Volunteer or not, if he were in my department, he would have gotten a 30-day suspension for disobeying a direct order, I recommend the same, especially given there may be damage to equipment involved here. Cant let that slide, he needs the message that he cannot just do whatever he wants to without consequences. 3. I will cut and paste your message and email my father, who knows Waterous pumps and Mack setups very well. Will get back to you.
  10. Oooooo I'm horny....a Hayward R-Model!!!! Nice!!!!!!!
  11. Stick your tounge in her _________ (use your imagination to fill in the blank.)
  12. That was me in the burgundy Chevy Silverado extended cab that blew by you getting horny at about the 11 yardstick on E/B I-78 this afternoon. We were on the way home from PPP as well. I blew past you screaming "GET THAT PIECE OF %$&* OUT OF MY WAY!!!!!!!" No not really but I did wave but you prolly couldnt see me as I was going about......well.......just real fast......lol.........
  13. Yup, drill em out or cut the nuts with a grinding wheel. I'm kinda surprised Papa didnt have you do that to begin with. You have to remove everything to properly paint the hood Vinnster......
  14. Someone was smart enough not to put a lawnmower engine into a truck chassis.
  15. I dont sleep with any of my ladyfriends either, we just hump savagely and then they take their leave.
  16. One thing you need to remember about converting a fire truck gas engine to a diesel- most gas engines are anywhere from 2600 to 3200 rpm's. Thousands of firetrucks from that era were converted to 671 Detroits, which are 2100 rpm engines- therefore if you want to maintain your top speed now, you will need to convert your drive axle gearing as well. Or you could convert to something like a Cat 3208 which has some 2800rpm road versions, and not lose all that much. You would need to compare the torque and horsepower curves with what you have now to see if it would work. As for the tranny, I suspect that an Allison HT740 would probably bolt right up, but again check before you buy.
  17. This forum is great....Where else could you get outstanding repair advice, and for FREE to boot!!!!!!!
  18. This forum is gonna mess that poor kid's mind up so bad.........
  19. Maybe Vinny sabo-ta-geed it in hopes of it tipping over to avenge all the U-model tipping jokes?
  20. I would really appreciate it if you guys would stop lusting after one of my wives, thanks.
  21. Took these pictures at the grand opening of the new Mack Customer Center/Museum Open House (formerly the R & D Facility in Allentown, Pa.) October of last year.
  22. I am a registered Republican. I believe in the philosophies of the late President Ronald Reagan. However I am NOT a Tea Bagger. I would call myself a "Republican listing slightly to port." I support unions (as long as they are not being unrealistic with their demands I.E. The Teamsters) and being a medically retired firefighter, I fully support Public Employee's rights to their rightly-earned pensions. That being said, I think I will have a very very hard time voting for a man who has continually voted to ship american jobs overseas and furthered any corporation's (who has done that very thing) further tax breaks. But if it means firing Nobama, I'll smash that green "VOTE" button for Romney in November until I break the damn thing.
  23. A dutch oven on the wedding night is acceptable. However a Dirty Sanchez would be a bit tacky.
