  1. Rob. love that part of WI. been up at the race track 3 times this year already.. not sure what way you go back home but you will be passing near my place. Im 20 miles west of I94, 10 miles south of the IL WI line. Rt 12 and 120 if you look at a map. I might have friday off of work so feel free to call me if I can buy you lunch. Trent
  2. yep I vote roadway also. they had lots of them set up this way. They also had some add ball R models with deleted or wierd options. I have seen the dogs removed for cost savings odd ball fuel tankes added with a "poker rod" as your standard fuel gauge air start 318 detroits in R700s the list go on and on with roadway tractors LOL
  3. this can be caused by many things. Tires and driveline are first to check. I have also seen the throttle linkage near the fuel pump allowed to "flutter" and cause the truck to seam as it is bouncing. That little lever off of the pump that has the spring was the issue. can you put the truck up on jack stands to see what it does with the drive line and tires spinning?
  4. wow... this should be intresting
  5. I was thinking 3.87s and still use 2nd direct or find some 5.02 and use 3rd direct? We have the power at the end as all the wheels are spinning but the lack of better road speed in the middle of the pull causes us to louse the momentum quickly.. It leaves the gate very easy and we dont have to ride the clutch like most of the guys with cats or cummings do. Trent
  6. old reliable... 4.17s
  7. We pulled tonight at a last minut event.. ended up 2nd place. I lost first place by 1'!!!!mid 80s auto car with a cummins got me... Oh well. Our truck was still spinning all 4 corners in 2nd direct at the 273' mark.. she needs a gear between 2nd and 3rd to get some more road speed and gain another 10 -15 feet!!!! looks like we will have to play with the RPM? Stark was 2' behind us.. (hows it feel) LOL!!! a KW was just a few feet behind stark. we all had a good time will have a vid soon Trent
  8. Not a problem.. I hope they can help him out..... and Welcome to this site!
  9. as rob said donaldson has the most afordable ones. the plastic scoops will have side vents to help vent water out and to reduce any excess presser build up at high speeds. If you drive where there is alot of rain it will have an effect on the air cleaner and it will have to be checked/ replaced more often. I dont think you will feel any gains but it will help the turbo get its air a little better. biggest gain will be your good looks! and yea think about adding a brace at the top of the tube. some of the early R models with tall intake tubes had a bracket that mounted to the cab roof aera. Trent
  10. got the info ...T2060 with 5.88 rears.. What do you think will this have a faster 2nd gear than the old 2 stick 6 speed? I think the t2060 has a 5.25 in 2nd low and 3.05 in 2nd high?
  11. Check with gulfway insurance http://www.racensur.com/ Tell them I told you about them. I just put my 77 Mack back on with them this week. It cost me around $225 for the year with the options I picked out, value etc... Trent
  12. this is the vin number if anyone has time to run it and see . if you can let me know what rears are in it. This truck had a wierd tag over the normal stamping aera. Thanks in advance.. 1m2p264y5rm015977
  13. looking at a 94 RD690 has a EM300. the stick has that silver ring simmilar to the air shift 6 speeds but just says hi and low? what could it be?
  14. Fred This is on a 2 valve 285. I can find american bosch real easy but no luck on the robert bosch. This guy named stark with his little 237 keeps getting us by about 10' on every pull. A bird told me today he saw them messing with injectors We cant have anymore of this!!!
  15. We are looking for a robert bosh pump from a 300-350 mack... We need more fuel on the pulling truck and the builder says this is where to start.. I can find plenty of American bosh pumps cheep but they will be no better than what I have now.. any leads would be great. Would consider trading our turned up pump for your stock robert bosch. I would just want to inspect its condition first and would pay shipping both ways if it was not up to our needs. Let me know. Trent Lmackattack@hotmail.com
  16. How do I think... ok il try.... If I was working at a Mack truck dealer and we used a KW to drag in broke down Macks.. that would make us look like fools and that we dont think a mack is a very reliable truck. If I was working at ford dealer and used a Chevy to give test drives I would look like a fool. I own a mack because I have pride in them and invested intrest in making money with them. I never think about the share holder that has put his investment in the company. his investent will be gone as soon as he makes a buck off me buying more truck parts. The share holder should have little say in how things operate.or who can move company landmarks .Hell they dont even know how to check there oil in a car... If a company cant show respect to its own name what does that say about the company? But Back to your question on what to do.....go pick up that bat and go find Mr Volvo CEO..and dont bring your ball or catchers mit.. thats what I would do! capiche?
  17. Personaly i think the 250 is weak. I can feel the diffrence in HP between a 250 and 300 and if its a low RPM 250 motor its even worse! it will do the job but I dont think you would like the change in HP... Find out if your 300 pump will fit the 250 and just have it timed and swap some parts to get it up to a 300HP

  21. See ya there with our black mack pulling
  22. they loaded the dog into a freightliner.... F U C K V O L V O
  23. let us know how it goes.. Sounds like you may be on to something.. boost looks good to me. but I know more about the mechanical engines. have little info with the new stuff. does it blow any black? most of the new elec engines wont.. if it is throwing black and there is no power it could be a boost isssue or something with the timing or turbo etc... hopefully that pedal reprogram gives it some life. I was not impressed with the lack of power with my friends 02' 427 mack with a 13 speed. my little 285 maxidyne with a 6 speed would walk away from it thru 1-4 gears and holds its own all the way to the middle of 5th gear.. h
  24. If I recall the 2001-2004 Mack engines were said to be pretty weak when compaired to others with the same HP. I have driven a few that felt lifeless even empty. As soon as the engine felt like it was coming alive you had to shift. Even tho it would pull 80k it never felt like it wanted too. I think there was a program to turn up to 480HP but the EPA killed that a few years ago. ??
  25. look near the top of the water pump. just behind it there will be a stamped number.. it would be near the top of the timeing cover. The 673 could be turbo or not. EN = Engine END = engine diesel ENDT= engine diesel turbocharged the numbers that follow the letters will desegnate the engine model such as a thyrmodyne, maxidyne, etc... and will also closely refrences the CID of the engine. http://www.oldmacksrus.com/Adobe_Pdf's...0%20Engines.pdf
