  1. IF you disconnect the wires the fan should come on.
  2. I grease my truck every 2 weeks, about 2200 miles. The grease coming out of the joints is a black purple. The grease going in is Valvoline red grease. Is this normal? just from heat?
  3. Between the race housing and bearing. you need to take out.
  4. I did some more checking,an for it to work I will need a different heavy duty front carrier. Thats why spicer says only a 400# weight savings. Its just too expensive for me to only gain $9.00 a day. Thats why I shy away from super singles. I would like to thank everyone for the help. If you have any ideas that are cheap to save weight let me know. Thanks Wilbur. If anyone ever comes to the Thornton Quarry give me a hollar Im there 16 times a day. I have a white ch with silver flames pulling a trail king aluminum.
  5. I found Spicer makes a kit for this but unable to post the link Why?
  6. I have a 2000 CH with Eaton rears. I am looking to shave some weight to help with payload. My idea is to remove the front carrier with the power divider and replace it with the rear carrier. This will make the rear axle a floater. I will make some adapters to mount a trailer lube cap on the axle flange studs an cover the front of the carrier housing with a piece of thin aluminum. I will also add a valve to just drop the air in the floater axle to put all the weight on the front drive axle. This I think will help on unlevel ground. I dont go off road I just haul from the Quarry to an Asphalt plant. Im thinking this will lose around 800# Carrier with power divider and 2 axle shafts. Your thoughts and opinions are Appreciated. Thanks
  7. If your sitting around ideling your not making Money. Hammer down.
  8. The top section only holds so much then runs to the bottom. You only need to check the bottom unless they are both new and dry.
  9. This bike is one of a kind. 95ci. S+S Harley 5 speed All custom sheet metal. Less than 500 miles. Must see. South side of Chicago.
  10. Turn the cruise off and hit the resume button. That will flash a code. This will tell you the problem
  11. Iowa 80 has a nice stainless set for around 300. I have had the same set for 15yrs and still look good.
  12. Storkmack I know what you mean about not being loaded right. My EW is 24800 and im always loaded light. As for dumping air mine is hooked to the tractor switch. it dumps both truck an trailer.
  13. The left and right are the same, but don't think a 350 will do the job.
  14. There should be marks on the flywheel 120 degrees apart. 1&6 2&5 3&4 turn the engine to get on a mark. Say your on 1&6 check both cylinders to see which one is comp. one will be on comp one on overlap [one valve partially open one closed] if #6 is on overlap start with #1 and vica versa. Once get that just turn the engine CCW looking at the flywheel to the next mark 2&5 and adjust 5 and keep going in the firing order 153624 you should make 2 revolutions to set them all. Adjust the Jake at the same time as each cylinder. 0.021
  15. I have a 2000 and its been a good truck
  16. Any one do it or know of someone on the south side of Chicago near 80 + 394 ?
  17. Going to be hard to see, better wear some cheaters.
  18. I checked all the actuator pins they were all 0.970
  19. How long ago was that? or was that just parts only? I have a buddy had 6 new sleeves, old pistons, new rings an bearings + labor. Was over 8k. Our Mack dealer gets $108 an hour. and don't work fast.
  20. On the 4 valve head the book says to turn 60 degrees clockwise or 1 flat on the nut after the adjusting screw touches the valve. How many of you check it with a 0,010 feeler gage on each valve when you are done? Is it really necessary to do this? Its a pain trying to get two feeler gages in there especially on the drivers side. I figure all that adjustment is for is to let the valves open at the same time an keep the yoke from cocking on the guide. How about some expert opinions? Thanks
  21. I have external oil lines on mine. It didn't effect the Jake that much. I found it when I took apart to adjust valves.
  22. I fixed it for good this time. Wont have to worry about them coming out.
