  1. Well made the trip to Denis Yaworski's this week and here is his latest. Unreal RD-800, E-9, 12 speed, 65 rears, Atlas body (that had been in the Yaworski working fleet.). The exhaust was apart so Denis could not move it out for pix but you get the idea. This truck has been professionally done.
  2. IMO, they should stick to what they know best. Wonder how Cat figures they own the "rights to the Paystar cab" How about..."they own rights to the ugly hood"
  3. I would say this issue is not dead yet. This truck was specifically donated to the New England Chapter of ATHS. ATHS says chapters can't own anything. I guess solution is the former chapter must sell the truck? Or donate it to something like the Mack Museum? In the short term, my understanding is the truck will be on loan to the Mack Museum I believe ATHS would like to sell it to cover their overhead and fund other great projects-or should I say projects they deem to be great-like spending almost 100 grand to erect a huge CF/MFX neon sign on their property! Hopefully it will end up as apermanent addition to Mack Museum.
  4. Thx Lanny- looks like a little roll over recovery-maybe Berlin turnpike?
  5. Thx-Which supports the theory that B-70's had different hood lenghts per the Warth book and also substantiates Rossi's B71 has same BBC as a B-61.
  6. Cl= single rear axle, CLT= Tandem
  7. Obama organization-I throw it in the trash!
  8. Matt- I think I remember that F-2000D Binder. I just remember all the Ford Super Duties they had back in early 60's
  9. Ah Joe's Garage, Fountain Street! How about Plunske, Rt. 5 Wallingford- Got any pix of their Ford Super Duty Fleet???
  10. Smart Ass! Just how old do you think I am???? I do have a soft spot those for those old slant back Penn Tanks with the manual pump up internals!
  11. Boy have times changed. Whatever happened to....."No replacement for displacement." Imagine 165 cubic inches in a half ton pick up! Now as for the Ecoboost concept, I have a Taurus SHO. 365 HP and the thing is amazing-it will climb hills in 4th or 5th at about 1100 RPM. Push the gas a little harder, it holds the gear and accelerates. truly a low end torque machine. Just hope thay are not pushing the envelope too far. In any case, love to have that 2.7 in my 04 Ranger instead of the gas hog 4.0 V6!
  12. thx Chuck- knew it was a 927-forgot about the Super 250 designation. CRS!
  13. Matt You sure about 250? I thought it was a rare 927.
  14. Bought my share of Heil DOT 306 tanks "back in the day"-along with Fruehaufs when a Fruehauf was a Fruehauf. Couldn't go wrong either way. Too bad they won't be built here---SOS!
  15. I would make that .."Northeast". Just look at the ATHS issues from say Syracuse and Springfield national shows. Then again maybe were just "ingrained"
  16. Matt- He said yes- Rack body dump
  17. Beauty-Nice work-what are they going to put on it?
  18. Looks like you got a good buy. Louisvilles were a great bang for the buck. What is plate? 27,500 lbs?? Great Rubber too
  19. Wow-2013 so its not rust-just where did it break and what were they doing when it broke?
  20. Was the "old man" Andy P?
  21. Nice shot Matt. And guys, to those who question this trucks lineage, the owner lists it as a B-71 and for sure, hood dimensions -BBC look no different then my 56-B-61X. Now to further complicate in looking at "Mack Moderl B-1953-1966 Vol. 2 " by Thomas Warth, pg. 97 B-70T gas-appears std BBC, pg 98 70ST USN tandem-has extended hood. pg.99, B70ST std bbc pg. 101 B70-head on shot-appears std bbc pg. 102 B71T has extended hood-also no "Thermodyne or Diesel" hood script. this says to me, truck was built both ways-std BBC and with extended hood.
  22. Either-actually I think Ford stopped using 3208's in mediums around 85 when they went to the Brazil Ford six. Not sure Allison was building 6spd auto back then for mediums.
