That's why I love this site- you just learn so much here! However, besides VT. the Oklahoma Sooners are my favorite college football team, since the '70's. How about the Oklahoma-Nebraska game in '71, won by Nebraska 35-31? One of the greatest football games ever!

I saw one of them at Wal-Mart in Altavista yesterday...not sure which one, probably all look the same from the rear. She was in the 20 item or less express lane with a full cart.

The IH's I drove both had N14 460 Cummins engines turned up to 500 hp. Don't remember the torque rating, but it was probably 1550.

I always considered a 10 speed roadranger the easiest and simplest transmission out there. A driver that's too lazy to shift one oughta be doing something else anyway, just my opinion. Kinda sounds like "we're gonna make this super 10 for drivers that are too lazy to shift a regular 10 speed-maybe they can find the energy to flip a button"

It really is shameless. First he took the bear, the bear runnoft and left him and came back home, then the gorilla turns up missing. Very suspicious indeed.

Looks like you could dump 50 lbs. of chicken in it, a bag or 2 of flour, a box or 2 of duncan hines cake mix, some salt and pepper,and turn it on and bread your chicken so you can fry it up golden brown- just a thought...(Paul Van Scott) Should work for fish too. Note how I gave Paul credit for using his quote-that's the way to plagieurize (whatever) somebody!

I totally agree, I hated them too. First gear wasn't low enough, and they shifted way too slow, you had to wait on it. I drove a couple of Internationals that had them. We found that when taking off like you're talking about if you moved the button, then took the stick out of gear and put it back in they shifted ok, but that's still a pain in the ass. It's about the same as having a 5 speed and 2 speed axle.

I saw this nice looking Chevrolet dump truck in Elyria this morning. The construction co. where I unloaded the pipes owned it. The owner said he used to have a green 761 Brockway too that he sold, but he said he wished he still had it. This was a former fire department truck, only 29,000 actual miles. He said they removed the tank it used to carry, shortened it and put the dump body on it and painted it, but they did no bodywork at all on it.

The Pete I drive used to have nice looking stainless steel half fenders on it until I picked up a load of lumber at a sawmill in Ga. one time. Put the front strap just a tad too far forward and when I pulled out into the highway it caught the fender on the left side and crinkled it up. Had to pull into a store parking lot and take it off because it was rubbing the tires. They put a set of cheap quarter fenders on it when I got in, and Jeff said he was surprised the half fenders lasted as long as they did.

I feel sure these people could build whatever you want- they do pretty much everything, or they used to anyway. They make TBC truck bodies there, or used to. They even made van trailers, H.H. Moore had a couple of TBC chip trailers. It used to be called Truck Body Corporation but I see the name is different now so they might be just parts installers now too. http://www.truckbodyco.com/default.htm
