  1. Neat looking truck, looks like excellent work, but it's at $35,000+ now and the reserve's not been met. Good luck getting that kind of money for it, especially when it's not even finished. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1950-Chevy-Truck-COE-/300986034014?forcerrptr=true&item=300986034014&pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item46142a675e&forcev4exp=true#ht_500wt_1182
  2. Up well into the 80's just about every truckstop you went in had an aisle with every kind of shift knob, adapters, extensions, and switch covers you could imagine. If I only knew- I would have bought a pickup load of them and put them in the deep freeze.
  3. I don't know how the Keystone Tractor Museum ends up with all these great trucks, they also have Dr. Bill's W-71 and the GMC tanker that was in the "Trucks With 2 Sticks" video, and in the ATHS videos from Long Road Productions. The salesman that comes by the shop from time to time is one of the brothers that owns Abilene Trucking and the museum and he said there's at least one of every kind of tractor ever made, and I can believe that. The museum is a great place to visit, only costs $8 for adults. I heard the guy that drove the green highbinder to Winchester tell some other folks that were standing around that the museum admission price doesn't even pay the light bill. It's well worth stopping to see, they have truck parking too.
  4. No, I drive a "plain jane" T600. It is red though. They only have 2 T800's, one red, one blue. They're both owned by Patsy Moore, Mrs. F.L.Moore, the boss of the company. They're a little fancier, with extra lights, chrome, etc, and have 13 speeds with 3.55 rears. The T600's have 10 speeds with 3.36 rears.
  5. Sure looks strange, that driving on the wrong side of the road thing...
  6. ...been thinking about changing my user name to terrapin man, but I wouldn't wanna be associated with the Maryland Terrapins, a Hokie foe in the ACC. I like the VT Hokies and whoever's playing UVA on any given week.
  7. I got one of this Dodge wrecker that's sitting there, the U or DM is sitting back a good ways from the road, and it's facing away from the road.
  8. I've never stopped there either, sometimes they have a truck parked there by the building and I wouldn't want to be parked in their spot if they came in while I was looking around taking pictures. I go by there all the time, either run 60 up to 20 and 39 to get to rt. 19 at Summersville if i'm going 79 north up to Pittsburgh or Erie, and I run 60 all the way to and from Charleston pretty often, especially if I can't make all my "documents" match up.
  9. now that's pretty neat stuff!
  10. yes it is, at least everybody's facing the same direction in this one.
  11. You must be following me...thought I saw you in the mirror the other day.
  12. They only had this Diamond T when I was there last, I'm gonna have to make another trip down there soon. and these Macks ...and this Brockway

  14. There was also an F.L.Moore and Sons T800 in the parade that was not on the facebook page.
  15. Saw these pics on facebook on the Keystone Tractor Works page. This truck was posted here at an auction a while back, apparently it's in the Keystone Tractor Museum now. All these trucks from the museum were in the Parade Against Cancer yesterday in Charlotte county. I wish i'd gone just to see and hear the highbinder and the big Diamond T drive by. I was going to be in the Appomattox Railroad Festival Parade myself, in the cement mixer truck, but it was raining all day and I need wiper blades and the brake lights weren't working, plus I had to go to Madison Heights to pick up some glasses by 1 o'clock, then had to go get all the ingredients to make another stew for a benefit next weekend...always something, eh?
  16. Hi Mike, where've you been so long?
  17. Saw an ad for this website in the last issue of "Old Time Trucks"- http://www.fatjacksplace.com/index.html Didn't check it out until today and it has a little of everything- books, maps, picture discs, and much more. You can even buy new custom made gear shift knobs, might be of interest to a lot of folks.
  18. nah, she can handle herself well- she's tough!
  19. .
  20. evidently...
  21. OK...
  22. ...and later I saw this poorly photochopped girl sitting in this driveway.
  23. Stopped by the feed store in Winfall on the way home, just to look around.
  24. much heavier than a Ferguson tractor, eh?
