  2. Follow the plastic line that leads to that controler back down the VGT filter should be directly below it near the oil pan! also There should be a valve on the fire wall to shut it off to change that filter!
  3. The ai stock was a dog but reliable! With the proper mods manifolds and or an ac cam they perform well! All this stuff let them breath properly!they worked well ! Aside from the odd bad turbo they worked well with mods!Hope we can get you worked thru your issues!

You first need to check the operation of the vgt ! as stated if it strokes correctly once you confirm that and plug the egr if the egr valve is commanded open by the puter it won't matter no egr gona flow and it will not loose any ability to spool the turbo! essentially becomes a normal engine !I did this to a customers truck 2005 chn years ago the truck lived a long life aside from a the check engine light being on all the time the truck did over 1 million miles! no problems to speak of !
  5. Same Idea Joe ! Different Concept is all! The statement wasn't Meant to degrade your opinion! These can carbon up too! BorgWarner turbos! These were a disaster at first these were popping left right and center in the first year till they got a handle on the programing! The trucks would come in with 10 lbs boost at idle! a wheel speed of 43000 rpm! Once they dropped the wheel speed down to 23000 and boost to more or less zero ! the issues seem to go down to a dull roar! My theory was the side loading with lower oil pressure they never told us what the issue really was! other than heat!😡 Typical! Need to know basis stuff! your not included! We had half a dozen trucks on the sales lot robbed of turbos just to keep guys running for the first six months! Embarrassing as hell!
  6. yup have seen this done never done it ! however no support! Essentially if you put a plate beneath the EGR valve and the manifold flow is stopped no need to arouse suspicion! mums the word! removing the cooler means you got coolant line and stuff to plug just extra work!
  7. This turbo has no nozzle It has variable vanes! Check to make sure it is stroking! Yes it can still be electrical! You still may have to free up the shaft and pin! Make sure it hits the stops top and bottom!
  8. The vane control could be!they sometimes seaze! try turning the key on and check if the vGT strokes it should go full stroke then back to start position! Does a self check every time the key is turned on!
  9. I have capped off the egr flow on these they run fine but will throw a code for low egr flow!They usually don’t derate! what kind of boost do you see? You should be seeing at least 33 psi! 35 plus is normal under load!
  10. Yup they reduced this as Joey said ! As long as the fuel pressure doesn't drop off when the rpms are increased under load you should not be having power issues related TO FUEL PREASSURE !
  11. If they are Meritor diffs the switch may be faulty on the diff! The axles may not be locked but the switch is saying they are!
  12. Heinz if you find one I believe there were two different gaskets don't forget to order the gasket! If its available
  13. If the engine has an AMBC fuel pump You could try and extra Gasket under the fuel transfer pump ! The little pump in the main pump tend to put side thrust on the pump cam and Can change the timing on number one cyl as the bearings wear! just something to try! 🙄
  14. Do to our terrain we could have been still selling Mp10 here it is a brute pulling machine when everything works right! Volvo chose to shut Mack out on that deal! Hope your right about the shim thing stupid idea! The MP8 is set up much better a bit more mechanic friendly !
  15. I've been out of it for a year or two But agree with your assessment mostly! Unless its changed ! What I saw and didn't like was using shims for the set of the rockers DUMB idea! Means a guy is AGAIN Tied to the dealer for a shim kit for what is normally a simple task! Mp8 had normality to it Proper screws and lock bolts ! And aside from the Bull gear failures and Decent engines aside from the cup issue that Should be resolved by now !Of all the new engines the MP8 and 10 were basically Decent engines ! and of coarse the half baked emissions stuff! Everyone is dealing with that junk!
  16. It cuts the air pressure in half so the front brakes don't lock up enabling you to steer! The way I under stood it ! the auto one which yours likley is after XX amount of preasure gives all available air pressure!
  17. Just curious! So Macky Who does your work now if you have other engine or chassis issues?! A lot of dealers won't touch a deleted truck ! Just sayin ! What happens when you have to plug in to check something other than emission related faults !( example ) Say to do injector cups and change Trim codes ? What happens then? just asking! I get haveing rid of this crap however there are other things to consider , just saying Let everyone see the big picture here! I'm interested! I am Not by any means being negative of your choice to delete just would like to know how you deal with these other issues that arise !

  21. It may be a front wheel limit valve Is there a limit switch on the dash? does it go to the front brakes?
  22. Also something you can try is after you push the seal and sleave on put the flywheel up and on with two bolts and take it back off again before the sealant can set up!And check everything ! it maybe that the fly wheel is pushing the wear ring on farther that the installer is pushing it! A! also as Joey and others have mentioned Do it cold with rtv or locktite or anaerobic sealant !
