  1. Yup if hes empty shouldn't be a problem a light foot will help! as for Your turbo that issue is from lack of air/ boost to much fuel . THat is an example of why you have a pyrometer gauge!
  2. It all depends on how much and how hard you work them from what i'm seeing We have some wicked long pulls here in BC ! we do cups still on a regular basis one a year on some! My guess 3000 Grand . More dealer gouging for tecky over the top stuff !!!!!! Shop rate just went up again ! To bad they didn't invest the money they spent on those tools in fixing the cup issue! Replacement tools for the trusted screw ,vise grip and crowbar method 50 bucks v/s the volvo criminal price! Good Bait ! Got me going!
  3. What trany do you have ?You may want to stay where your at depending if you have maxidyne or not! if do not have a 13 sp or better moving to 350 / 400 may hinder your situation! Just A thought
  4. Not even a re design of the wimpy bolt and clap system that holds the dam thing in? very cheap ass to my way of thinking! There is othere options in my mind However I am not and engineer! ADDRESS the problems you have befor moving on to yet more complication!
  5. Time will tell how ingenious this system is given all the other issues these engines have with injector cups this seems to be the weak point of an otherwise Fairly bullet proof engine design as for the two speed water pump splitting hairs with that in my opinion The Compressor disconnect makes some sense! As for Compounding to much complication for to little!
  6. Mirrors also create another blind spot Having said this I totally agree with you to much dependence on TECK They are creating a bunch of DUMMER ASS drivers with this stuff Total lack of knowledge and the physics of vehicle operation.
  7. Level and temp sensor in the pan / pressure on the cooler
  8. If you dig around in the console you will likely find to more vacant plugs an on switch on off and hi low switch should be there ! once you got these rounded up and installed you need to go to a dealer and have the engine brake enabled in the computer end of things There are also two governer types in the program have this set to min / max it changes the way the engine brake feels when it operates!
  9. The wiring is likely there however you need to find it all !! there should be to wires and a plug near the clutch pedal for a clutch switch likely wires in the center consoe marked engine brake and an empty relay slot or 2 in the fuse box and an empty fuse slot for engine brake! If not its not that big of deal to run wire to run new wire! If it is a manual lever engine
  10. OHHHH Yeah! U Bet it can!
  11. Sounds like they are throwing parts at it with out checking stuff however many things can cause this ! the engine brake slaves coming apart can cause the engine to smoke more bad injectors can cause it to smoke more The computer can only tell them so much ! It assumes every thing else is OK ! unfortunately The program they use is mediocre at best and we tend to rely on it too much ! its a rock and a hard place For you and them as there are so many unwritten scenarios that cause these to screw up! The best they can is to start with the cheap and easy and work your way thru it ! Did they Check the valve and engine brake set ? If not maybe they should!
  12. nope
  13. We use ESSO / Mobil bulk ,WE sell both ESSO and Cheveron pails and jugs
  14. I Think the whole intent here and its Not just Volvo or MACK but BY ALL manufacturers IS to captivate AS MANY parts and intellectual Properties as possible. that way THEY GOTCHA ! Good for them their dealers and techs, Consumer NOT SO MUCH! Entrapment at its finest! This way they keep ya comin back to buy the dollar store sensors and cheap wiring and crap they install on the cheaply build Short term 5 year life cycle vehicles they build ! Terribly good for business not so much for the environment or your pocket book! My Rant for the last ten years
  15. ๐Ÿ˜‚ yup real spensive sounding process and canโ€™t see that screwing up.๐Ÿ™„
  16. Could you please explain a little more ! Do you know if the the cam followers Are ceramic or metal? Earlier engines were equipped with steel rollers that eched the cams is this what is happening? or is it ceramic rollers that are breaking? If the symtom is a chirping sound it could be you have old style lifters and should upgrade to spring loaded push tubes and cearamic rollers
  17. Did you guys replace the t stat?
  18. as stated Check out the egr post there althou getting the egr VALVE loose at this point is going to be tough it would be worth it in the long run!make a plate for beneath the valve!
  19. Yet again Piss poor planing on their part the likly hood of these trucks being on a hook is 3 fold of trucks of yesteryear , pretty short sighted in my opinion! Very brave move.
  20. If ya got the money . sure gona need some ! lots of mods Id think! Depending on your engine ! if to have the 460 etec you would definitely have the room However ECUS would have to be synced up bla bla lots to think on! I believe the horse power was limited to 427 for the allison as well!
  21. THE OTHER Short answer YES ! But Not ALWAYS However when this happen s usually the EGR COOLER has failed that 1200 dollars now becomes 3000 dollars ! Are u also loosing coolant? If so the afore mentioned may apply in this case you have two choices Spend the the 3000 grand or cap off the egr coolant and cap off the egr valve and bypass everything! This has been done and the effects are negligible!
  22. AMEN to this statement Kev!
  23. U used to be able to by a P2 bearing ( 2 thou over) check and see not sure if this was availible for E7 how ever it was for E6 and E9
  24. THis should be on your priority list!
