  1. If high oil pressure is good then cummins didnt get it right when the Big Cam 2 came out.Big Cam 2, 3, 4 all use 35 to 42 psi of oil pressure.
  2. Were is that sitting?I keep thinking i have seen it.
  3. Mack sure its not a wheel brg froze up.I saw this happen a few years back when a man was working on his truck and found the brakes was stuck. Two days later some one ask him to check for a bad brg and bing go.
  4. I use a universial sendor made by stewart warner. That sendor is adjustable.
  5. I remember on a DD 3 you could install a resister on the manifold pressure sensor and gain some response but on a later version they set it to were the ecm had to see so much vehicle speed.Yes mack trucks paid a large fine to EPA.Cat just passed the fine on to the engine buyers.
  6. I think most people that i know think also it was rigged but now we cant do any thing about it.Maybe later.
  7. And if your rack will not move then pump needs to go to pump shop. Then look in the bottom of fuel tanks for water.
  8. I know your right
  9. If it will still idle and idle with out any missing then it may have a stuck rack. But do as JOJO said and make sure your linkage is ok and the lever is ok.And to make sure you have fuel pressure you need a gauge on it.If the pressure has dropped enough to cut the rpm back it would be cutting out and not idling good.Last check is pull top off of governor with engine dead watch the rack and pull the stop to kill and then release it to the run position and then push the fuel lever in full fuel position and watch the rack move in and out.
  10. What i dont understand is how did Biden get elected when now no one will claim that they voted for him.
  11. That is normal reading.
  12. First thing is get some one to read the ecm for old codes.
  13. Freightliner manual with cummins says 10 with a hi flow engine and with a Big cam low flow you would cool as much as 45degrees.
  14. I think if you cool your coolant 10 to 15 degrees your safe good.
  15. Did you get them bleed out good?
  16. Poat a photo of the bottom of the housing please.
  17. I found year back safety first and some times thats not enough.Once it falls on you its too late.
  18. I had a extended reverse mack 18 speed and the thing i didnt like was it was geared to low in reverse. It would be ok for some jobs but if you have to back up very for i would use it in hi range.
  19. We never supported the rear because you want the rear of the trans to drop a few inches so it will let the front of the engine raise up enough to clear the front crosss member. If i fork lift it out of the shop i put a chain on the rear of the trans. If the trans drops down much then the mount bolts may be loose.Yours is quad or triplex so it may drop down more. Its been 40 years since i have been around a quad or triplex.I had a 18 speed maxitorque in mine and about 4 months ago me and my son change the engine and it did not drop down no more than what we need it too.Its in a Ch and they are so easy to change.
  20. i think this was a statement instead of a question.
  21. Back when we had a speedo shop here they would tell you to connect cable direct with adapter taken out of it.Drive ten miles by mileage markers and see how many miles and tenths speedo head was off. Then take them the adapter to them and they would repair.
  22. American Technologies.pdf (rometruckparts.com)
  23. When a man welds a fifth wheel to the frame he will do other nasty things
  24. I worked at a dealer when these trucks was still in production and when we pulled the engine we pulled the front off in a assy like this. You could have the fenders and rad off in 45 minites. The engine could be pulled then in less than two hours. Many people dont know this but the trans stays in the frame when the engine comes out.
