  1. Ok, got some time so I started tearing into my suspension. So far I found that the right front mount is GONE and thus likely the reason for all the shaking at highway speed. Something like 3/8"-1/2" of slop. I can't seem to get the bolt out of right front mount? Got nut off, using my new 3/4" IR impact, I can't seem to get the bolt to turn/come out. Been soaking in PB Blaster but not budging. The other 3 bolts slid right out without issue. Next, I can't seem to get the adapter bushings out of the lower mounts. I've heat/beat/chisel and they won't come out, which won't allow the arm to drop off the axle. Bushing on each side of arm, got to get both out to get arm out. Spent some time today without no avail. Don't have rosebud tip for torch, so can't heat that mount up enough, might get new head for torch tomorrow. Anyone have some insight?? I haven't pulled the hubs off the axle yet, as I'm trying to work around them presently. Might have to go all the way, but trying to eliminate that hassle right now.
  2. I've got the new socket to fit the front pivot bolts(42mm), so I'm ready to disassemble mine to replace bushings. I'm hoping it takes care of the "hopping" situation at highway speed. I'd have to go look at mine to remember which bags mine has? Seems like it's the "left" style, but can't recall off hand. Since I put new leveling valves on, they NEVER, ever loose air even after weeks in the garage. Me likely!
  3. Looks great!
  4. ^^^^ after they put up a nice building to hold the horses. Then the building is yours!!!! Eh, I'm a fart smellar................um, ah, smart fellar. My kids were jumping up and down and yelling: "blow off the end of the gun like cowboys do" I was expecting to see a picture of Elmer Fudd with the end of his shotgun all banana peeled from Bugs stickin his finger in it.
  5. Check the other post. Apparently he's knee deep and been too busy. He is fine.
  6. Thanks for the update David. She was going to be my next google search, though I didn't know her married name(doh).
  7. I was hoping you mighta seen him Kid? Did he ever pick up the Mack? I tried all the numbers I have for him> Cell goes to voice mail, work is disconnected.
  8. I send him a text yesterday and haven't heard back. Strange. Cell phone went to voice mail this morning. The shop number I have is disconnected. I tried the listed number and it's disconnected. Something isn't right. I did some Google searching and didn't find anything in the newspapers with his name.
  9. Oh man, guess I missed something? Welcome to the real world, women will never be understood and you'll never do anything "right" again once you get involved with them. ahhh, but the farmers daughter.............well, you get the picture............
  10. Was at Ashland truck show this weekend. Had a name badge as I was part of the committee and was wearing an orange vest helping doing everything all weekend. Well, two different people came up and said "Gary?". I laughed and said "No, Larry". My printing is hideous and I tried, but failed and made the "L" look like a "G". I then had to explain to even complete strangers that I usually respond to more simple names LOL!!!! Gary was much to nice, even it wasn't my name either.
  11. Wow..........can't believe you found pictures of my first love LOL!!!! NOT..................
  12. Once again, I'll bring this up............. http://youtu.be/VG7F0ImuSUQ
  13. I go by "Hey you", or just "asshole"...........something really simple to remember.
  14. Any diesel can run away, but a detroit is usually more common only due to the blower, worn seals or stuck rack. Most all leaky ol detriots have an emergency shut off(a control cable hooked to a flapper in the intake tubing) that is used to help shut them down from such an ordeal. Once you shut the air off, they will die away even with all the oil. It takes both to run air and fuel to run. Later versions had a solenoid controlling it from the key. Turn the key off, it closes the flapper automatically.
  15. Glad you got to see them> No matter how long it took ya.....
  16. With gears, it's all about the transmission of power with little power loss and noise. Straight cut teeth are strong, but whine pretty bad at speed. Helical cut gears are quiet, but aren't as efficient or strong. You need to be somewhere in the middle. I guess that is where Mack came up with their version. Little mix of everything.
  17. Didn't realize this was a lopsided Mack til now. Was following links after watching the U model above. I know it was posted some time back, but figured I bring it up. (video notes: detroit soundtrack, and for some reason they have interior shot of driver smashing the brake pedal when the motor revs up?? Huh?)
  18. EEEEEEEzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz on those right turns. Man. I think I saw some air under that right front tire??? Gett'n pretty light and wondered if it might go over............................
  19. Off brand lawn mower?? What, a $100 push mower? LOL!!
  20. When mine was a short single axle tractor with no bunk, it was just under 12K total, so says the CAT scales at the truck stop.
  21. How's that line from Dr. Bill video..................."you can go down the pass too slow many times, but you can only go down too fast once". That mixer picture reminds me of Smokey and the Bandit when Buford tells his son to duck or you're gunno loose your head(as they go under that bridge span sitting across the road).
  22. Hot damn, that one is UGLY!! Reminds me of that crash test truck where they ran it into a brick wall and the engine came out the hood. 70 mph to zero in one second. Tragic.
  23. Sounds like your air compressor is toast. Putting that much oil in the tanks in that short of time, not good.
  24. If he don't, how is going to get woke up to see that big ol wreck????
