  1. I'm thinking Karen might find them when she gets in the bunk to sleep on the way home.........
  2. Well I looked at my 673 pump, there is plug on the drivers side I can remove and put a nipple on for the heater hose. Looks like it will work out after all. Tragedy averted. Thanks guys. Mike, I'm thinking the Winfall Wimmin would probably get the truck nice and warm for me..........but thinking Karen might not be to keen to the idear.
  3. Thanks Keith. I'll have to do some checking tomorrow and see where I can tie into the waterpump. I know I don't have room like that as the 673 pump is shorter and the pulley covers up most of the pump. Pretty sure mine came off the casting(where the oil cooler is at) but my 237 doesn't have a fitting there(just like yours doesn't). Where's Jim at?? Where did you tie your heater into on your 285?
  4. The original 237 had the line coming off the bottom of the pump, going around the passenger side to the air compressor(just like the 673). That I will reuse with my 673 pump. The one heater hose came off the front/top of the water manifold and returned back into below that area(mine had no oil cooler). I'd have to go look again to confirm. The 237 manifold does not have a fitting in the front since it has the water filter set up on it. Then the oil cooler does not have any fitting in the front either. I'll get some pics and post them, likely tomorrow night.
  5. Hmmm, ok. Only problem is I have the 673 waterpump on it. I have the fitting on the bottom of it, that is where the line goes to the head of the air compressor. I do have a fitting in the top of the front manifold where I was going to hook one line(that motor just has a plug in it). Just not sure of the water flow and where I would need to bring it back in? I have the temp sender in the same location as that picture. I have the shutterstat in the same location also.
  6. Nothing. This supposedly came from a fire truck if that matters? The feed for air compressor is on bottom of water pump. No other holes like on my old motor. This having an oil cooler makes it slightly different set up. Just curious if anyone has an r model with 237 to see where they route the hoses.
  7. It could actually, have fuel and electric hooked up. Just no water yet. Got the crank bolted torqued last night. Picking up water pump gasket and then can put that in and install radiator. Then front end, etc. Have to fab up upper and lower radiator hoses. I do need to get some idea on where to hook heater core up. I found a place on water manifold, but don't know where to return it. The oil cooler does not have a return hole like my old system did. Where did the R models get and return the heater core water? I think I'm going to have to make a throttle arm for the pump. Can't get the old one off. Can't believe how tight that little 1/4" bolt is. Heat, heat, heat, oil, heat, oil, heat. Ugh, don't want to break it off.
  8. Paul told me "no hurry". Still had it back in two hours.
  9. Well it went pretty easy it got all bolted in and just over 1 hour. Life is good. Today I am hooking stuff up. One hiccup. I cant get the throttle arm off the old motor. Heat and oil won't get that little bolt out. Ugh.
  10. "here's your hat.......don't let the door hit you in the azz on the way out"..............
  11. Better on the eyes? I'm thinking this is better on the eyes... Can we have this as the default theme?
  12. Ya, saw that on the FE forums yesterday. Looks like there is a little bit of sanity still left in Washington? Might be a few gearheads mixed in the group?
  13. Ah....found the THEME button at the very, very bottom left. I switched to "SHIFT" and it is much easier on the eyes.
  14. The overall function is fine(bit quicker then before). I'm not a fan of the bold red/black artwork....I like things a bit more subtle. But, I'm just glad it is here and won't complain a bit. I'll even say THANKS again to Barry for giving us a place to come to. EDIT....go to the very, very bottom left corner of the page and find the THEME button. You can change the color format. I put mine to SHIFT and I like it. Very much easier on the eyes with the blue/grey colors.
  15. This is the original hub. Don't know the history of the truck so don't know if this is the actual "stock" disc or something the towing company put in before I bought it? It has worked fine for 15 yrs, and I did not abuse it. I don't ride it or lug it.
  16. Well, it's back. I have the flywheel installed, just need to finish torquing it down. My wrench only goes to 150, buddy has one that goes 300. Calls for 190 on 5/8" bolts, I'm going to go 200 and call it good. The wrecker is set up for Sat morning. The weather is suppose to be 62* and nice. I made some guide pins out of 6" long 3/8" bolts(with the heads cut off). Should make getting motor lined up with transmission much easier.
  17. I ain't scared Jim. I'll walk out the front door with it. The VP asked if I had a plug in my garage to run them. Told him "Sure do!" I've got an old MIllermatic 250?(can't recall) MIG at home but the 211 is a 120/240v machine. The plasma is also a 240v machine. Ya, 60* and only 60% chance of rain. Better then 0* and snow! I got the flywheel bolted on last night. Guess I put the holes in the right spot?? My torque wrench only goes to 150#, the book calls for 190# for the stock 5/8" bolts. Going to borrow a buddies and run them down to maybe an even 200#. I put thread sealer on the bolts since the crank holes go through to the inside. I know on a small block Ford if you don't seal them your clutch will get soaked(ask me how I know).
  18. Thanks. I'm all self taught. Been there 30 yrs and it is a nice perk to be able to do whatever I need. The company just bought a nice 211 Miller welder and a plasma cutter.....should I need a small unit to use at home...........cough, cough, cough.......
  19. Got up Sunday morning and ran up to work to get the holes opened up. The bridgeports were full so I used the G&L horizontal. I picked up new bolts and the pilot bearing this morning on the way to work. I'm ready to install it tomorrow night when the clutch shows up. I'm working on getting the wrecker for Saturday morning install.
  20. Well the clutch is on its way back, will have it Tuesday. Will pick up a new pilot bearing on Monday at local bearing house. They upgraded the disc material, but not to ceramic, but some kind of carbon fiber mix. Suppose to give more grip but be a bit easier to drive(not so grabby as ceramic). Okey dokey. $295 for everything, not bad. They are throwing in an installation tool to line up the disc too. I got the hub off the 237, the 673 front mount is installed. I didn't put the new hub on yet, will likely do that once the motor is in the truck. Making plans to get motor installed next Saturday.
  21. Stay of execution?
  22. Unfortunately, like last year, our local show that I'm involved in is the same weekend. http://www.ohvintrkjam.com/ Oh, someday......
  23. At work I do use Chrome, but at home I still use IE on my old laptop. I never updated it or work computer to W10. Screw that. Chrome at home didn't even let me get on BMT every time, so I just still use my old IE. How's that go.........Old habits.............
  24. New IE11? Huh? I ain't got nuthin' new. I'm still running windows 98.............................LOL!!! (well, okay, not W98 but old IE)
  25. Looking good Barry. KInda threw me off the other day too when it was going through the change. Thanks for the update, I can now get on from home and it doesn't have fits.
