Some Macks from work
mackmb212 replied to mackmb212's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Here is a autocar dump we use for moving mill scale from the forging process. Again I don't know really anything about it because I work in the machine shop and they keep these trucks hidden in the back of the plant. -
Here are some trucks we still use at work. Where I work was formerly the Bethlehem steel main plant so you could understand why these trucks are so beat up. The fist one is a dm800 it has a vary short wheel base a 2 stick 5 speed and 13:24 rubber. Not sure on engine size. The interesting thing with this dm 800 is the door tag that says it was built by Allentown brake and wheel. The low boy hooked up to it has solid tires and they load that thing down until it's almost hitting the ground. The orange truck is a dm6xx something I never had the chance to check it out too close those frame rails on it look almost twice as tall as the rails on my b81.

DM800 questions.....
mackmb212 replied to 2stacksuperdog's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
I have a dm800 question. How come they still are fairly expensive, I mean from a hobby standpoint. I'm guessing because there still being worked or is it the exporters driving the price up. -
pm me with what you would be interested in

I have a b81 radiator it's the one that sticks up about an inch higher then the hood. The core is in good shape and I do have a badge, cap and bail to go with it. I also have a complete power steering setup also, everything but the lines at least. I have the driver side 50 gal fuel tank in decent condition.

I'm not a member of any other sites like this but I do go on a lot of them for tech info. I agree with what your saying about other forums the rules are vary strict the people only have a sense of humor when there bashing someone for asking a simple question. This is by far the best forum I have been on, that goes for the members too. Rudy

1960 B81 dump f/s
mackmb212 replied to DigDug's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
That truck looks about the same shape as mine is and let me tell ya all said and done the only original body panel that will be left on my truck will be one inner fender and the drivers door, I would definitely look for another truck first.
