  1. I dident think of that, is the oil cooler rebuildable.
  2. when people say 237 or 250 what dose that mean. What is a 300 are these 70s or 80s engines
  3. So I went to tarp my truck for the winter today, I checked the antifreez and it was about 2 gallons low so then I checked the oil and found it to be a greenish white color so I now know where the coolent went.I bought my truck back in the spring the first thing i did was change the oil and filter the old oil looked fine for how long i was told the truck was sitting, I only started it and moved it around at my garage a few times this summer and only let it run for about 15 min. My truck is no where near road worthy and will take a few years to restore. Would it be worth trying to rebuild the engine or find somthing newer to put in my truck I know 711 parts are hard to come by and they were not the gratest engines please tell me what you guys think or what you would do. my truck is a 63 b81 Thanks Rudy
  4. Looks good. I don't see a problem with this.
  5. Not trying to steal this thread but I was wondering would one of these v8 engines fit in a b81 without major modification
  6. thanks for the heads up. I guess I have to find some place to make me a bumper mine is beat beond repair.
  7. I was wondering if anybody knows if the bumper made by combs custom parts for the dm800 is the same used on the b81 it looks to be close in the picture they have on there site. The head light buckets on a dm800 look to be the same as the b81 also. If anyone's knows if these parts would work out let me know thanks Rudy
  8. Hi everyone, I came to the conclusion that I'm just gonna put a fifth wheel on my b81.my truck was a dump originaly and then had a fifth wheel on it but it was long gone till I bought the truck. I was told old style fifth wheels are all gone. Just thought I would gather a few opinions on this since I haven't seen any fifth wheels for sale thanks Rudy
  9. yeah that don't make much sence. I dident know those rears were a big deal there was 2 r models in the u pull it junkyard a few months back and they had the same set up in them.
  10. I looked today on the frame for the vin and i can't find it its not in the same place where the vin is on my b81
  11. Yes the turbo is mounted alot lower on the mb and the piping from the turbo is a little more low profile for cab clearance. I can get you a few pics if you need them. Rudy
  12. The wiper motor thing is interesting because the b61 I stripped was titled as a 65 but had the wiper motor under the dash and that explains why everything was coated in oil the truck had r model rears in it too....talk about mix and match Rudy
  13. im guessing that the b73 and b75 had a different steering box then. It looks like theres a u joint on the end in the picture. rudy
  14. I just scraped a truck It was 13 bux a hundred I ended up with 1,345. It dident have a body on it but still I think your fire company has too high of hopes . Good luck with saving that cf Rudy
  15. I will be there hope to buy some goodies for my b81 witch came from gerharts lol
  16. That is deffenetly a MB cluster for sure unless they were used in other models too.
  17. I would jump on that if I wasent going to look at a house
  18. I know this was most likely asked a 100 times but I can't find a clear answer. My b81 has 11.24 in the front and 11.22 in the back I was told everything now is 11.24.5 Or 11.22.5 . I want to keep the spokes and would like to run 24 inch rubber all around. What Did some of you other guys do ,what rim size do I need and where's the best place to buy new Rims, and if anyone could tell me if theres a reson why my truck has 24s up front and 22s out back and if it would be dumb to keep it that way. Thanks Rudy
