  1. Okay, I'll go with the DeLea Sod Farm Superliner. Used to see their trucks all the time on Long Island, usually Usually Mack Green R models with spokes which were good looking in their own right.
  2. R700 has fabulous look for transports and can handle large load in the rear.
  3. Looks like it's gonna be a big wooden pile if it doesn't get some attention soon. Hopefully they expanded the store. Ain't much else going on in that town. She's doing a pretty good job of balancing on one leg.
  4. Beat me to it! If that's the scene I think it is, he missed the right turn and was backing up to clear the curb. In the scene prior at the same intersection, Bill Hickman got loose in the Charger and hit a parked car, knocking out a camera in the process. I thought it was pretty neat that nothing was edited out.
  5. I looked at those scans and actually remember engine, transmissions, and rear axle ratios on most of the trucks in the issues I had as a kid. Mis-spent youth ain't so bad, I had no life!
  6. Paccar has their own engine now. Maybe they're heading in that direction. Wasn't White sticking their name on other manufacturer's components or did they make their own?
  7. There they go, trying to confuse me again by using a 13 speed splitter. Looks like a mid-70's vintage with the crowned top.
  8. I missed your post earlier. Unfortunately you're also competing with oil and gas workers who have been a boon to the motel industry, many of whom don't go home every weekend. I was also sorry to see that truckstop replaced by a Pilot. The restaurant had excellent food and low prices and the motel was clean. I also stayed once at the one across from the GoMart. You have to park at the GoMart and walk up the hill but it was also cheap and clean. I didn't look last night but I know it was open recently.
  9. The side panel does appear flat but I think that's just the angle of the shot. From what I've seen the Brockway side panel is larger and more square.
  10. Sorry to hear about the tragic loss of your friend. I sure he would be pleased that the Superliner is going to a good home and not rusting away in a field somewhere.
  11. Shoulda sat another 30 hours. We coulda hung out.
  12. Welcome!
  13. I want you all to know that I searched countless scans and had to view hundreds of TOTM photos and Datemasters to find this and expect nothing in return for my pain and suffering.
  14. Hmm..I thought I replied here but apparently I haven't. Oh well. Without further ado: Holy mackeral, that is friggin' sweet!!
  15. They're going to "put a sign at the base of the canyon to let everybody know that's no place for a big truck to go". Yeah, that'll work.
  16. Were you Flatwoods last night? From where you're parked you'd be looking at the back half of my trailer. I was last at the store in Gormania in '06 or '07. I spent the night in Oakland and woke up up to 6' of mid-October snow. I was supposed to go to Davis but gave up on that and decided to take 50 east towards Winchester. Got to Gorman and looked across the state line and saw that WV was in much worse shape than MD. Pulled into their lot and hung out until dispatch came up with a game plan. Spent about an hour and half at the store, observing and shootin' the $#!t with the employees. Good people.
  17. He reduced the flapper noise by 50%. A lot of websites do that, but the link still works.
  18. $200 more for blue? Must be a big demand for them. I've never tried one but always thought that a low ride seat would work well with that cab. I'm not one to sit on the floor, but I didn't like how a standard seat with the proper amount of air put me so close to the ceiling.
  19. Glad to hear that your family was not involved.
  20. Welcome! It may not be original but at least the improvements were made by someone who knows how to make a good thing even better. The interior looks great, and it's never been smoked in!
  21. That retaining wall across the street was my lunchtime view from 2:10 to 2:50 this morning. I parked against the jersey barrier that seperates the truck stop from the other store. Been through Gormania. Just beyond that next telephone pole is a little convenience store with a real deli section and room for a big truck or two.
  22. A bit overdressed for a Petro. The employees prolly thought you were from corporate. Nice radio. what's wrong with it? It's a good thing you spell your name without vowels. It fits nicely under the meter.
  23. I pointed the top of my head at that photo and started growing hair where I haven't had any for years.
  24. Wat he said!
  25. Good times. It can't hurt to call.
