Ok, seems my original pump is not keeping up.  I can manually pump up 20# but after starting and running it drops to 10# and then barely holds 5# and then it has been just stalling out.

I was perplexed with it not wanting to stay running after a few minutes until I put a pressure gauge at the filter and then I can see what is going on.

Anyone have the proper part number?

Thanks.

Bro before you go condemning the pump ! Have you checked the tank vent! Is the lines to and out of the filters clear!  I have been burned by other people’s diagnostic conclusions before !
Check before you canon!

just sayin!

Fuel system was no issue last fall.  Now it suddenly won't run with new motor.  I had lots of issues with getting this primed up when I first started it and it only had 2ft of hose to can of diesel.  Then it really had problems drawing from tank.  I replaced the new primer pump I bought with old bailing ring version from the 237 and it works much better.  I can hear it returning fuel to the tank after pumping up 20# of pressure.  After starting the pressure drops and won't recover.  I know it should be 15# idling as that was what the 237 had.  Too bad it is different pump or I would try it.

New lines from lift to filter and back to injection pump.  Remaining lines are good from before.  New filter also.

Mine looks like this but I think mine has a much wider roller.  Have to go out and look again.

I had to replace the pump on the 237 years ago due to low pressure and lacking power.  I installed a pressure gauge and saw it drop out under boost.  A new pump brought it right back.

Looks like only two variants are available.  Single or double check valve.  $166 isn't bad.  Pretty sure I paid much more for the one in the 237 about 6-7 yrs ago.

My 2 cents worth

Are you sure everything in this department (Tee circled in red) is working correctly?

If it isn't building pressure here properly then it maybe just leaking back to the tank to quick

Apart from that useless information, carry-on

I just went back out and pulled the pump.  I unscrewed the line from the filter and it sprayed fuel, so I guess the check valve is working since it has been 4-5 hrs since I had it running.

The other day I was out playing around and was going to bump the starter so I could get the trans into a gear, one quick hit of the starter and it lit off instantly. I typically don't leave the shut off pulled out.  So my guess is the check valve is fine.

Btw the roller looks narrow like the one in the ad I posted.

! Thats the narrow so you need to make sure you use the one you have  (wide!!!! ) not the one shown! in the pic! If the engine lights that quick you got a flow issue not a check issue!  That Said ! I would be scrutinising all he hoses and all the fittings I have seen rocks and or debris  stuck in elbows leave no stone unturned before  the Canon comes out  you got the time and likly a lot less money!
