He has been fixing and selling lawn mowers for a while now, but it's time to graduate onto bigger stuff- he will be 15 in May and it's time he started thinking about his 16th bday and that little card that goes in your wallet that every 16 year old kid thinks of.......Plus I wanted him to have a manual transmission 'cause he sure as hell ain't learning on my 67 year old truck!!! The package I handed him is the Haynes/Chilton Manual for his newest "Mechanical Conquer" I think I downloaded this video right....... V6 and a 5 speed sounds like a hot rod! 4WD is for fun! Tell him to get that transmission oil checked/changed right off. I don't remember what gearbox these have (NV3500?) but I know they don't hold like the larger 4 and 5 speeds. Hope he can get it to last until he's 18! other dog Posted 3 hours ago Share Posted 3 hours ago Yeah, I don't like nit-picking jack ass inspectors, like say, the one at precision auto care, some things don't affect the safety of the vehicle at all. I got rid of a nice '76 3/4 ton Dodge pickup one time because the windshield had that cloudy looking stuff around the edges. Just a little, but it wouldn't pass inspection. Or a hole in the exhaust pipe, minor stuff. But I took the Ford Ranger I used to have to an inspection station right up the road from where I lived. Got a new inspection sticker on it, drove it to the truck show in Winchester that weekend, and a few days later when it was sitting in the driveway with the wheels turned a little I noticed the cords sticking out of the right front tire on the inside edge. Now that kind of scared me, that should never have passed inspection and I drove it up I-81 to Winchester and back like that, running around 200 mph the whole way. Believe me l was pissed at both my Reps & Senators when they dropped the inspections. As many emails l sent them including links to YouTube videos "Just drove in". Never got an answer back as to whether they looked at the videos!
