I see the wear ring is in its own bag.  Thats a first for me.

Im sorry, but I have to ask.... isnt there 2 rear seal part numbers? One for the seal alone, and a different seal for use of the wear ring? I know you have been working hard on this and have gotten info from many directions, and a parts counter that doesnt know what you have, I recall 2 different seals due to the thickness of the wear ring.

Trying to not be a pest here... Jojo

any chance they will give you the correct seal for free?

😆. I got my money back for the wrong seal, so can't complain much.  I'll have an extra wear ring but whatever.

I've blown so much money on this project I don't want to know ....

Larry don't feel bad I have been known to piss money away I restored a 1934 vld Harley Davidson the paint job and chrome and nickel was about $5,000 back fifteen years ago and the 65 Vellosette Truxton was an absolutely killer for money spent on parts I built a 1940 80 inch flathead Harley and the money involved was significant. The 32 Ford hot rod pickup was somewhat inexpensive a can of JD flat black paint for the paint job a $ 400.00 1969 mustang 302 and c-4 trans and a cheap 9 inch Ford one legger rear out of a bronco I got for $100.00

I always put a "value"on the enjoyment I get restoreing vehicles. You will always get a good chunk of the money back if you had to sell them for some reason.I work with a guy who thinks nothing of blowing 4/5 grand at a horse race meeting...thats his thing.

Great work on that engine.......Im following closely

I don't think it as "so much money blown" ::: more like money has been spent for an investment AND the knowledge  gained by hands on is considered PRICELESS!!!

Thats what I thought about when I saw the seal in a previuos post.  there is a different seal for the wear ring.

the wear ring seal has a : thinner felt lip with standard metal housing OR the metal housing thinner with same felt can't recall. point is the seal allows for the wearing taking space. which is why  the crank turned hard as it did with wrong seal combo. positive note :heck of a situation if it was thought to be OK just needs to wear in after clutch /transmission installed.
