While the expenditures he is discussing are lunacy, the man just voted yes for a bill that cost US taxpayers $3,500,000,000,000 (3.5 trillion). Now he's yapping about cutting $9,000,000,000 (nine billion). Hmmm. 9/3500 = 0.2%. I think he is a hypocrite.

im still waiting for all the fat cutting that was supposed to take place,,,and now the media is rattling on about cutting SS by 2033,,,,oh ya well just what  is anybody doing about it right now?????you got 8 years to straighten it out,,bob

The administration has signed a trade deal with Japan, with 15% tariffs on Japanese imports (down from a threatened 25%).

The deal does not cover Japanese exports of steel and aluminum, currently subject to a 50% tariff.

Bessent says Japan got the 15% rate because they were willing to provide the US an innovative financing arrangement...........a $550 billion package of U.S.-bound investment and loans.

Japan's auto sector, which accounts for over 25% of its US exports, will see existing tariffs cut to 15% from levies totaling 27.5% previously. Duties that were due to come into effect on other Japanese goods from August 1 will also be cut to 15% from 25%.
