Popular Post mechohaulic Posted February 18, 2023 Popular Post Share Posted February 18, 2023 most slider 5th wheels were 24 inch travel. oil company had to sign off on lots of legal paperwork for the 48 I mounted on the R685. back then the rules started to show up. a fixed wheel was either on center or 6 ahead. a 24 inch slider was 6 in behind center . keep in mind wheel base and customer request set mount locations also. new government regs narrowed mounting options. we all know how knowledgeable the government people are. ask one to find the 5th wheel and they go to the cab, no that's a steering wheel it's not counted as a 5th wheel. 1 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I found a hardware store and asked where they kept it. We went out back to grab a bag and one of the customers called him Shertzer. I asked him if he was related to Shertzer trailers. He said how did I know about Shertzer trailers, I said I had one. Boy did he get excited when he saw photos of my trailer.
