Scania Group Press Release  /  July 2, 2020

After buying three new Scania trucks, Diego Ibarra of Transporte Ibarra is impressed by the quality of both the trucks and the service he gets from Scania Argentina. "I was very surprised by the ease of driving, impressive technology and comfort," he explains. "These new trucks improve the drivers' work. Not only in safety, but in comfort, with how many kilometres and hours they spend in these trucks."

With the company's two largest Scania trucks, an R 500 acquired in 2019 and a more recently purchased R 540, they are able to transport b-train configurations of up to 75 tonnes.

Mack has also developed some impressive RSC specifically from applications like ready mix trucks. But actually, I was talking about the stability of the trailers, and one of the best measures of that is RA (Rearward Amplification) which is a fancy term for the "tail wagging the dog" behavior seen in multiple trailer combinations. Single trailers generally do best in these comparisons, followed closely by B-Doubles, long conventional doubles, short conventional doubles, and triples are the worst.

Daimler's RSC on Freightliner and Western Star-branded trucks is supplied by formerly Belgium-based WABCO which was acquired by Germany's ZF this year.

The Z in ZF stands for Zeppelin. The company was founded by airship builder Count Ferdiinand von Zeppelin.
