blowing heavy black smoke

Sure you have the right injectors or just started doing it months later? That would be a symptom.

Watch pyro. Check boost under load. PSI check charge air system. Check soot % on oil change and stay below 3.

Gotta love a truck that isn't embarrassed to smoke in public.

check the charge air system if there is nothing odious ,  check the compressor hose inlet    it is likely plumbed into the manifold! common failure!

what do you mean by common failure? compressor hose plumbed into exhaust manifold?

No, keep the EPA dirt bags here and send ME back!

Trucking was FUN! Made better money and the trucks literally had a soul. My Granddaddy and Daddy wouldn't even recognize what they call truckin today.

Right on!

Remember the smell of truck stops? Diesel fumes and hot tube type tires on a summer night. Ahh, the good oll days.
