Piggly Wiggly MACKS

Recommended Posts

Amazing how clear those old pictures are. Love seeing those AC's in their original setting. Monsters compared to most of the Fords, Chevy's, etc. of the day. Thanks for sharing.

I digitally enhanced the photo a small bit to read the date on the tags. 1924

Nice classic shot. Any idea on the location? It has a northeast look to it but I believe Piggly-Wiggly was founded in the south.

Eleventh Street NW. Washington DC in 1924. The spire or tower on the building in the back ground over looks Pennsylvania Ave. Where the trucks and buildings are is now the IRS Complex in the Federal Triangle. Paul

Sorry to here that block has deteriorated over the years.

Trump owns the building with the tower, last 19th century building left there. He has restored the out side, the lobby and clock and made the upper levels a 5 star hotel.
