Well, when you have a truck with vendor axles (open diffs) and you put ribbed (no bite) tires on the drives, and add to that the fact that few trucks have a steer driver...some trucks just don't do well in the snow. I was pleasantly surprised with how well my truck did with Mack rears and Kuhmo KRD03 tires...probably didn't have to shovel that 1 day...wish I knew THEN what I know NOW! Oh well...there's always next time.

When approaching a 4-way stop, the vehicle with the biggest tires has the right of way!

The FWD is full time, non-selectable AWD. The three diffs (1 each axle and one in the 4x4 splitter) all lock from a vacuum switch on the dash. I do not get my boots muddy.

Where is this awesome high traction explorer?!? I have heard tales and even rumors that there are pictures, but alas, I have never seen the beast...
