WANT TO BUY Need trailer decking

Need source for 5/4X6X12' and 5/4X8X12' need 440 BF of decking. Would like a source in NY or in NE PA

2003 I put a bed on my Freightliner using 7 " x 12' shiplap Apitong . I think it was 5/4. I got it from Transportation Supply Depot near me a Fruehauf parts dealer. They also had oak available. I think they had other widths available. I do not know if you have anyone like this near you. They also did trailer repair.

Depending on how fancy you want to get you could use Ipe wood. (pronounced E-Pay) A little pricey but your deck will probably last forever. That stuff is water resistant and hard as iron. Doesn't warp either. That's what they use on boardwalks, Atlantic City, etc. It so tough you need a carbide tipped saw blade just to cut it. Google it, lots of suppliers who will ship it to you if can't find nearby source.

Are there any sawmills in your area? You should be able to get a decent price on wood. White oak was recommended to me when I was going to replace a trailer deck.

There are mills near me and i'm contacting them. I have trees, but don't want to go through all the effort. I need to have this done b4 York, and theres 2' of snow on the deck now! I'll check the Ipe. Thanks for the tips!

As DCR said contact a local sawmill. There are plenty in Northeast Pa. and the southern Tier of N.Y. Oak is plentiful in our area also. Sawmills i have done business with Brojack Scott Twp.Pa,or Brojack Clifford,Pa. are within 1 hour or lees from Binghamton,N.Y.They will rough cut or finish cut whatever you choose. There are others closer Ordie Price near Gibson. And many others. Joe D.

Check out any Amish saw mills near you. I think you can get a better price from them than others.

Anyone have experience using Larch for decking? I think it's also called Tammarack? I know it's very rot resistant but don't know the strength capability.

Larch is soft wood for house building material. Great for making barn sills.

White oak, ipe or apitong would be my vote for decking.
