drove by PLunske's yesterday . too much traffic to slow down. that Diamond T has different cab then Waterbury Mack's T wrecker. don't think I would have stood that T on it's rear axle if Waterbury had a tandem not single axle T wrecker when I attempted to hook a DM600 roll off and move   !LOL

That’s just wierd

More and more of those guys are using something like that for towing. The wreckers have become so big anymore it doesn't make a lot of sense to use one for towing.  Tht one in the picture will lug a disabled tractor hundreds of miles, and make short work out of it. Probably with well under 100K into it too.    Now about those guys' Diamond T 😏

to spend $$$millions on those fancy 4 -5 axle wreckers  and have them sit not profitable. they make the big bucks on calls ; when they are on one. take a set up like above having a 5th wheel ; unit not towing can be useful under trailers. fleets started using tractors with 5th wheel mounted wrecker set ups yrs ago. now they seem to be more elaborate
