  1. I found this rd8 on the rb site. It sold for $18.000 Cad.
  2. Diamond Reos were built in the 80's and 90's by a private firm. There was an auction about two years ago in central Pa. of the remaining assets. I think the name was part of the sale.
  3. Mack closed the Brockway plant on Feb. 9, 1977. The last few years they were built with R model Mack cabs. They are easy to spot by the 2 piece windshield. The did however have a different dash. The cabovers used the F model Mack cabs.
  4. Welcome. Did you know there is a truck show in Greensboro this Saturday?
  5. I guess a "guard" is the fender. The RS has a raised cab. The hood is raised to meet the cab. The later RS have the fenders lowered about 4 inchs relative to the top of the hood.
  6. The fender extensions still look like an after thought. Some of these little rice burning pieces of crap come half painted and half unpainted plastic. Maybe that's where they got the idea.
  7. A 675 (237) with turbo and clutch has a dry weight of 2240 lbs.
  8. Berry, When I use the "My Assistant" it brings up the new window under the big window. I have to minimize the large window to get to the small one. So I do what every one else does and use the "View New Post"
  9. Welcome. Where are you in NC? I'm in Raleigh.
  10. Unhook the fuel going into the pump. Put an air hose into the fuel tank and hold a rag around it. (Don't hook the air hose up directly. You will build up way too much presure.) When you get fuel at the pump, hook the line back up to the pump. Crack the lines at the injectors and turn the engine over. When you get fuel to the injectors, close the lines and then try starting it.
  11. Larry, I have a RTOX14610 with Mack bellhousing for sale. Call me at 919-932-3344. David
  12. Welcome I live in Raleigh and have a lot of Mack parts. Call me any time at 932-3344. David
  13. 3408 is 1099 cu in. The E9 didn't meet EPA-02 because Mack(Volvo) didn't want to invest the money in it. Or maybe there just wasn't ebough time, money, and space to do both the E9 and the new Volvo at the same time.
  14. Discontinuing the E9 freeded up production capacity at the Hagerstown, Md plant for the production of the new Volvo engine.
  15. The fender extentions look like an after thought.
  16. Looking at the spec book again, The RW613 was standard with the MACK Air-AL40(For highway application only). If you spec the Neway it adds 102 to 232 lbs. If you spec the 38k multileaf it adds 558 lbs. If you spec the 44k axle and multileaf it adds 877lbs.
  17. The difference between a RW6__ and RW7__ is the frame. The RW6 cross section is 13.1"x 3.3"x .24" and unloaded height is 38.6". The RW7 cross section is 13.5"x 3.4"x.39" and unloaded height is 39.7 to 40.4". This is from a spec book dated oct. 1990. Hope this helps.....David
  18. I have two of the Mack rear mounts if your interested. Call me at 919-932-3344
  19. Since your truck is a tractor and not a dump, the side mount pto should be ok. You will need to leave the range/reverse lever in neutral and pick a gear for the other lever to have power to the pto. The problem with this pto on a dump truck is when you want to dump and spread, you can never match the speed of the truck with the speed of the hoist. Mack solved this problem with their own pto for the 6 speed. It mounts on the lower rear and has a drive shaft that runs from the front of the trans thru the counter shaft, so it gets power without the trans in gear. This allows you to pick the correct gear for spreading. I think this pto was made in three different ratios.
  20. Trent, what trans do you have in your truck? Have you checked to see if there is gear to drive the pto? I had a rs that was speced new for pulling a fuel tanker and this gear was omitted for weight savings.
  21. I have some NOS Mack filters. They are part number 236GB123A. 6" dia, 7 1/2" long with a 1 5/8" hole. Call me if they are something you can use.
  22. Berry, is this truck on a ch or cl frame? Built in Pa. or Va.?
  23. You can remove the inlet hose at the pump and put an air hose in the fuel tank that fuel is drawn from. Hold a rag around the air hose and fuel will be forced through the filters. The rag method will allow enough presure to get the job done but not enough to do any damage. Don't get carried away and hook it up directly to the tank as 100+ psi in a fuel tank could make a pretty good bang if it was to cut loose! More is not always better. David
