  3. Rob, Yes I've seen the cost of New part and my heart stopped beating for about 20 seconds. There was a dent on the front side so I took a piece of wood on the back side and hammered it back out toward the front. Still has a defect in the metal but maybe the plater can fill it in. I'll surely be satisfied after I get new studs installed. I believe i'll use the stainless studs as you said but fine threads only and use small lock washers and nuts. mike
  4. Glenn, Any lite weight oil is better than none. I've even used ATF. ATF is always around and not that expensive since not much has to be used. I've used the Mystery oil also but normally save it for loosening internal parts. Back in the 60's my dad would use oil to squirt in an engine while it was running. Or use BarDall for upper valve lubricant. Those Were The Days! mike
  5. Rob, Actually I would like to separate the two metals. I know this was a brazing process at the factory on the front lip. The rest of the metal is not attached. Can the metal be re-bent without breaking after it has been bent the first time? mike
  6. Rob, I'm afraid the emblem will bend if I try to lift up to get under to drill out old studs. I know that an emblem can be bought from Kevin, but hoped I could somehow fix it. I'll still take your advise and try it and see if I can bend it back straight on the edges. Can't hurt. Thank You mike
  7. Greg, I believe in the oil treatment also. Thanks to all for the advise. Since I'm not on a clock, i'll probably go with an AirCat that James talked about, but will surely look at the Craftsman from Sears an RoseButt. mike
  8. Rob, Glad you showed us this because, i have the original emblem that has broken studs also. I thought it was forthless because the owner ground the chrome finish off down to the brass coating. The emblem is B61 radiator under the dog. So if I understood you right, the studs can be fixed and then chromed. If so i'll take it to a shop. If I could find 2 Thermodyne emblems and 1 Diesel , I would have a complete original Truck. Thanks mike
  9. Hi Terry, Interesting hobby you have. I remember the Wheel Horse Garden Tractors growing up. A neighbor friend had a 1965 and later bought a 1969. I had a cheap Craftsman that I have a couple of slides, remember old slides?.... I still have them back, taken about 1968. It cost about $375.00 then. My dad bought that for me, so I would get over my liking a particular Go-Cart. He knew how to get me to work for him every summer. After the old Craftsman wore out we looked for a better lawn mower. Started out looking for a Ford. My dad worked for Ford at the time and could not see paying the price with discount. So we looked at Craftsman and made a deal at Sears but it was broken, so we left it. Went to a Big K Store looking at Murray mowers. A man saw us looking and asked us if we were interested in a good mower, we said yes. He told us of a company going out of business that sold Simplicity tractors and Jacobs. We bought a 1983 7112 6 Speed 12 HP with 48 in. deck for $1800.00. It was a steal even back then. I inherited the old tractor and still have it. I now baby the thing and enjoy it. If I can ever figure out how to post pictures, i'll take a photo of it and post it. Thanks for sharing your interest. mike

  11. First of all thanks for the replys. I have a Quincy with 22.3 @ 175 lbs. plenty of air. I've been looking at the IR 1800 torque rated at 12 cfm and 4,000 rpm, twin hammer with variable speed. I do not know if it's a Titanium. That i'll dig deeper into. Thanks mike
  12. Hi Tom, Hope all is well with you. Last I remember you were not running as much. It will be ok. I'm glad I grew up with a dad that taught me to tighten my belt. I did not know how to take the comment earlier. But felt the need to only express myself as I only knew how. Not trying to slander anyone. I was agreeing that people will take advantage of ya. But you have to be ok with the results. Ya can't always win. I had a great boss once told me when I was going through a divorce that " Sometimes you have to lose to Win" I finally figured out what he was saying. But not at the time of all the turmoil.   13. I understand fully how you feel. I could give you a churchey answer but will let you fill in that blank. All mankind has been taken advantage of in some or many ways. Its how much of a heart you have that counts. I see it on this web-site all the time. If Barry and this administration had not cared about us and what he believed in, then we would not be enjoying this opportunity to learn and communicate with each other. Frankly I'm one of those people that needed a brother good or bad. My real brother was 6 years older and left home when I was 13. We had a terrible relationship, but I wish that I could let him borrow something from me again or allow him to see my old B61. He would go crazy over it. He was one of the best custom car, truck, Race Car, signs etc. etc. PAINTERS, with people like Charlie Daniels calling for my brother to paint his trucks and buses. Thats just one of the customers.   14. I would start by contacting Watts Mack Sales on this web-site first. Then go from there with your ideas. Mine is plain black leather or naugahide, same for the seats. I like the looks of the old 60's fashion with Diamond Tufted. Some of the older seat cover local busineses can have suggestions also. Unless you are going all original with the truck, then the sky's the limit. mike

  20. Rob, I was thinking of his best half first and foremost. Knowing he would get many great points having a fair down payment on a home. And he could find another well you know what I mean. He'd be like ole ROB and keep his woman happy and you know the rest of the story. LOL............. I'm ready to put a piece of glass in the driver side. Paint it with the correct Mack colors, and maybe pull some Farmall's with it. mike
  21. Rob, Think you and I could fly out in my Arrow, look the truck over, offer him a fair price and throw in a lab dinner for him and his significant other. Then he can have a down payment on a house. They can then live happily ever after and we can also. Sounds like a great deal to me. mike
  22. It surely looks good. The ole Mack is glad someone thought enough of it to upgrade some paint on a surface. I'm thinking like rustydog, why not spray alittle on the back? It sure is easy while the panel is out of the truck. Honestly not meaning no harm. I'm also curious as to what color primer you used on the front before you shot the final? mike
  23. I've been trying to figure out what the plate on the glove box reads. My glove box has two holes for a plate, but is either lost or has been moved to another location. I have a plate on the left side of the dash that reads about idleing the engine too long. Could that be the plate that your's reads on the glove box? Would you send me a pm or message?
