  1. No actually, they are Scania 111's.... and they are literally EVERYWHERE, especially near the ports. They were the first diesel truck widely available here and were almost all painted orange. They quit importing them in 1981 or 82, but many of them are still working hard here with newer engines out of Scania 112's. Here they are affectionally called "Jacarés" which translates to 'alligator'. . . now they say Jacarés famintos.... which means hungry alligators; because their hoods are always open needing repairs. They have a great reputation and many new owner ops still buy them for starter trucks.
  2. From the album: Scania 142HS

Paranaguá, Brasil During peak harvest, over 40,000(!) truck loads of soybeans per month head to this busy port town.... destination, China, mostly.
  3. Looks like the driver forgot he was pulling a trailer in the bottom pic.
  4. I've asked this question before... but why do the Aussie trucks route their single stacks over to the left of the cab? The exhaust manifold is still on the right... is it just to keep the sound/smoke away from the driver?
  5. The interiors are so simple compared to an American Large-car.... fringe is very common in Brazil, they are considered "Latinos" you know. . .. but they don't have the strands of flags, beads, or what-have-you like you see on the Slavs and gypsy rigs of Europe.
  6. Could you fit an A model with a tip turbine E6 and actually run it some?
  7. Can someone tell me about the Low-mount KW's. How long were they built? What was the idea behind them? Is the radiator smaller? Can you work them with a Big Cam in the heat? Thanks.
  8. Not Flavor Flav!..... Has to be "south of the border" design work in my opinion..
  9. Its coming off the air compressor. I assume they do that for cooling?
