  3. Oh, it’s just gonna pull the band off and bring the seal number and the band down to fleet pride Monday
  4. Well, it probably is one step up from a B model since it’s a 66 and they were still building the B model beginning of the year so it probably got the same rear ends
  5. Well I was just about talked into getting new shoes but like magic just a splash of gasoline and brush both shoes cleaned up amazingly just like magic oil completely disappeared and thiers lotsa life left thanks for all your suggestions fellas looks like seal kit is all I need

  8. Thanks for that Barry. I’m afraid he’ll have a little trouble getting that much for it but best of luck to him …. Bob.
  9. Good point about the spoiled kids, but on the other hand, everything is so expensive these days when I was drawing 100 dollar paychecks along with a lot of other kids back in those days you could buy cars all day long for 100 bucks now they’re lucky to do 300 bucks a week check and everything out there is at least 2000 bucks for a beater so most cases these days parents have to help out with their first purchase at least but yes, a lot of them go way overboard these days
  10. Yeah, thanks for that. I used to have a spring tool for a car. I don’t know if I still have it. I can’t find it. I’ve got way too much shit around here and I could never find anything. I lost my grease gun when we moved here 20 year ago it’s out there somewhere
  11. And yes there’s only one spring at the top bottom is pins with snap rings
  12. Yes I got a tank it’s got dirty cleaner in it right now and yes I ordered 5 gallons of soap for it from Amazon it’s very powerful and yes you have to wear gloves otherwise it burns my skin
  13. They look 3/8s hard to say thier dripping in oil and slop right now
  14. And no, I was not planning on using air tools on them, but as mentioned, they may come already riveted
  15. I’m assuming last guy just replaced the seal
  16. Yeah it’s right on the seal visible
  17. Excellent thanks for all your help I’m going out in a while just for now I’m going to clean up the shoes with gasoline then start making calls of drive down there hopefully today I got a sneaky suspicion this truck will be in here a while… oh well I’ll start stripping the interior
  18. To tell you the truth, these shoes look like they’re aluminum as that possible They’re so filthy. It’s hard to tell anything about them.
  19. Thanks for that Geoff they’re bolted on linings that might make things a might easier
  20. Yes, they agree. It’s a lot of work to just put it back together without doing it right if I do replace the shoes, it would just be that one wheel. it’s a 66.DM607S
  21. Oh, by the way, the number is right on the stemco seal
  22. Oh, where do I find the numbers on my shoes? Also, what do you mean by 79?
  23. And yes, Geoff I have tried to clean oily brake linings they continue to bleed through hobby truck that might not ever leave my property I’m trying to cut corners all the linings are around half worn so I’ll probably try to save them maybe soaking them in some high-powered solvent for a while
