  1. Nice H. How much for the Chevy engine? Can it still catch a ride to York?
  2. Thanks. I have wanted something without an electric starter for a long time. I have learned a lot more from this thread. Mike
  3. The B30 sold this morning. The other is still available. Mike
  4. I love the B30. Maybe I'll bid on it. I hate the idea of more juice brakes though. Thanks for posting. Mike
  5. I don't have the information from the Mack Museum. The previous owner had gotten it, but could not find it when I picked up the truck. I guess I will have to request it. I assume he confirmed the year with the information from the Museum, but I do not know. The truck could have been pieced together or had pieces replaced in the last 93 years, but the serial number on the frame matches the plate. I guess I need to search for adlake electric headlights. I will also measure them and post the size. Thanks, Mike
  6. The hand is taken from ebay. The guy wanted $550 for the plaque. I should have bought the one for $120 earlier in the year, but I didn't know I would need one then.
  7. Thanks, Mike. I can see filled holes on the inside that look right for the larger plaque like this one.
  8. Thanks. The guy I bought it from had the build sheet says it was ordered with headlights and no generator but a battery. It was ordered by Texaco. He couldn't find the info though. I'll have to measure them. Mike
  9. I bought a 1922 AB and it is missing both of the brass plaques with the bulldog shredding the paper that says operating costs. I also would like to replace the headlights because they are not complete. I don't know how they work since it doesn't have a generator or a battery, but I would like something that looks better. While I am at it I could also use the linkage for the hand throttle and spark arrester that attach to be shaft on the bottom of the steering shaft. I also would like to replace the water pump. Please let me know what you have. Thanks. Mike, Boyertown, Pa.
  10. I bought this AB two months ago. It is reasonably nice and runs good, but needs a few things. As usual, it looks better in pictures than in person. I would like to replace the headlights and I need the brass plaques for the side of the cab. Let me know what you have. I will also post a thread in he want adds. Thanks. Mike
  11. Wow! I just read the whole thread. You are going all out. I got a vote of $8000 to paint an Autocar cab and doors inside and out. It is already off the truck and stripped. It did not get done. I think you got a too price. I have wheel and tire envy. Mike.
  12. I want to see the R719 I person. Are you staying for Macungie?
  13. Congratulations and good luck with the truck. Having the brakes done already is a huge benefit. It is a neat looking trucks. We have a 1941 Type 55 open cab. It needs brake work or we would be running it around. The Macks in Basking Ridge are a private collection owned by Gary Mahan. It is well worth the visit if you have never gone. A donation in the $50-100 range is good. When you see what you get you might want to give more. Mike
  14. Welcome to he forum and congratulations on the A40 acquisition. To post pictures you use the "more reply options" button then chose a picture and attach it. Mike
  15. Looks great. What is going on the back? Mike
  16. So you were in Oley and didn't stop to visit?
  17. If no one else comes through I have wheels. I'd have to check them. I will be at both York and Macungie. Mike.
  18. The black B model with the integral sleeper was at the 2000 ATHS show in Valley Forge PA. My father got talking to the owner, Bill Abbott from Iowa, who said he was looking for a single axle tank trailer. My father mentioned one that a friend, Phil Mack, owned. They went to look at it and he bought it for $500. The B model had been hauled to the show on a step deck. They drove to Gilbertsville, hooked to the tanker and loaded the whole rig on the step deck using the dock at the local tractor dealer. There was a story about this in Double Clutch from back then. I will try to find it. Bill sent pictures of the trailer in progress. He really put a lot of work into it. I had wanted to buy the trailer to pull behind my Fleetstar, but my father wouldn't hear of it. Mike
  19. Now I believe you. Great work. Hope you are outting the body on now. Mike
  20. We don't believe you without pictures. Keep them coming. Mike
  21. Awesome. I'm jealous. I want it. Mike
  22. http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/topic/38736-r686-parts-truck/ Here is the link. Mike
  23. I've got one listed in the for sale section listed as "R686 parts truck". I was unable to copy the link. It is pretty rough. Mike
