  1. the engine in the top photo is at latest mid 1951. at that point they changed the hood trim from three slat to two slat and the bulldog on all L Models. some prior to mid 51 also were done that way. .
  2. it was built as a pumper solely by Mack... it originally had the gas motor... Original to Schwenksville, PA... it was the last E model shipped in 1949, 12-30-49. They were a Mack department right outside Allentown.
  3. the serial number of Pacifica's rig is 45S-1521
  4. B85F-1185 was original to Lawrence, MA
  5. B85F1028 is original to Marblehead, Massachusetts. at one point is was marked Essex County.
  6. again, please do not repost these photos
  7. this is your rig taken outside the firehouse. every building visible in the photo has since been torn down. please do not copy this photo and use on any other forum.
  8. it was originally Ladder 31. Grundy was the 4th department to operate it. It went in service as Ladder 31 on 6-25-73 replaced on 4-28-82 and made a spare. disposed of in 1985. bought out of the Navy Yard by Chesterfield County, VA. then sold to Petersburg, VA then sold to Grundy VA. the slanted cab roof was done by Baker at the refurb in 1985. there is no shop number on the front drivers side corner of the rig. that did not start until 1978. They did put it in the cab though before then, either on the drivers door above the serial # plate, or up and behind the drivers head on the cab separation wall.. in 1978 it was standardized to be up there and on the cab front(and on the rear as well.)
  9. Rockville had 4 this is one of them.
  10. do you have a pic of your truck? any idea where it served?
  11. you can buy the rig at auction from Copart. goes to high bidder, whoever they are. collector, scrapper, whoever...
  12. why would you need contact info for something that has already sold? its too late...
  13. if this truck were alive and being shown somewhere I would have given him the info, because I would have it. it is not. it was either scrapped or behind some departments firehouse out west and nobody has seen it outside of that town in 25 + years. hopefully his lead with firemaster will yield some results.
  14. as I said, I do not know where this rig is. neither does Greg Stapleton. between us we have the best databases out there on Mack apparatus. neither of us have any information on this. We have compared this rig to all our unknown photos in our vast collections. nothing matches. It is extremely doubtful the Mack museum will have anything on it about any owners after Evans City,,they dont track them the way we do. sorry, but thats the straight dope.
  15. i believe it was just the one. they went from red to green. 21LT-1001 was the serial number. It was originally E7 it was refurbished back to its original red
