  1. Nice truck, I still say once its on the net, its out of your hands where it goes, dont put it up if you dont want to share, cranky ol farts, lol
  2. yeah if its shutting down while your out to clean off a light its pretty quick, you can set the shut down time and on non CARB certified trucks shut that function off altogether, on carb trucks you have to set a time I believe.
  3. Ive got an 85 with an E9 450, Antrim Diesel turbo, injectors and pump turned up, stock they are a beast, Antrim parts they will flatten the Smoky's. If you are just running from the farm Id say turn the pump a hair, lose the puff limiter and let her ride, if you want more, governor spring, more get injectors, more get the bigger Borg Warner turbo. want more after that they can do that too, I think Albert has a big Holset turbo and huge injectors and major pump work, headers but hes in a whole nother league. I can load an excavator and run up a couple mile long hill at 90k and never lose speed from 65 at the bottom and never go over 850 on the pyrometer.
  4. Randy, he probably didn't have his earplugs with him and got worried you'd want to start that loud ass green weed eater engine in the garage!
  5. looks like one of those inline diesels for container ships wartsila i think is the company.
  6. Rowdy a word of advice I got from a man more learned than I, if your gonna be pulling different types of trailers get boxes on your truck and make sure you have all the securement stuff you need on "your" truck. Its a pain in the butt to swap em from trailer to trailer, if it were me I'd look for a locker style headache rack. Best of luck with the new gig.
  7. Ha, the tiny 37" huh, lol my big TV is a 42", I don't ever watch it so I'm not wasting my money on a $1000 TV.
  8. You realize your running a 13 liter with 15 liter engines and apparently giving them a run for their money on top end. I would think you'd be happy to be able to remind them they just got passed by a Mack with a smaller engine with 50 less horsepower and 300# less torque, I mean come on man this is apples to oranges! Lol
  9. I never said we only ran 74000 or less, just that's what your legal for, lol.
  10. +1 for Superdogs comment, CHU MP8 505C+, you can get the same trans and rears for service and parts commonality. Personally I'd rather have the CHU than the Coronado just due to the body sway associated with the wide cab Freightliner. I'd go with the Grand Touring interior instead of the Rawhide, little cheaper and just as nice but no goofy looking longhorns stitched in the seats.
  11. Still reminds me of Vinny and a U700,lol.
  12. If they are off road trucks check for grounds like Paul said but add, connectors and harnesses for rubbing and any kind or twists. I've seen harnesses that looked good except for a kink before, take em down and pull on the wires and there would only be a strand or two still connected inside the insulation.
  13. Looks like a turbo shaft bushing to me.
  14. Most of the trucks I've seen from that era with a 427 have 1400 or 1600# transmissions, I have a 14609 behind a cranked up E9 450 that makes probably close to double that now. No issues yet other than slipping a clutch running about 90k# up a hill and rolling into it pretty hard.
  15. If its in a Mack its got a fitting on top and bottom, or should since the fork is on the bottom of the bearing where most builders put it on top. Like above get a couple 90's and run the tube down from the top, Mack should have the kit as stated above.

  17. Why not just use the triaxle, saves on brakes and tires and oh yeah, you can haul more tonnage.
  18. Ok, I've been looking at Hendrickson composilite lift axles, I like the way their tie rod and mounts are set up. I've never seen one with the steering stabilizers on the front, always on the back just looked odd. Good luck with the truck, I always wondered why you northeast guys had such short trucks anyway, seems you would fill the bed before you made gross and hauling by the ton would suck.
  19. Hey MACKS, where did you find a steer tag that has the tie rod and stabilizers on the front, thought they were always on the back of the axle.
  20. Um, TN is 74000 on a triaxle, not 79000, and if your on the interstate they are starting to watch bridge law which puts most triaxles around 53000#. Of course this is around middle TN but the state shows 66000# on a tandem, 74000# on a triaxle and 80,000# on a quad or 5 axle truck and trailer.
  21. Yep several companies make LED replacements for H4656 4"x6" headlights, your high beams are H4651's
  22. Ha, I'm gonna guess these trucks have had a lot of deferred maintenance or none at all in the past cause those trucks rarely give issues to anyone I know.
