  1. Larry - been able to do it that way a few times but have better luck double clutching. Usually don't have a problem getting it out of gear, it is getting into the next gear. I think the linkage is the reason. There is no linkage in conventional trucks.
  2. Video of a Peterbilt with runaway engine. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=3e2_1366330989
  3. Mike, I think you need to visit your other brother Mike and make a deal on an F.
  4. If you don't have insurance, you may get away without a plate. I cancelled the insurance on my brother's car (when he passed away) and on my mother's car (when she went to the Home). I was told to send in the plates otherwise I would be subject to a fine - licensed vehicle with no insurance. I am finding PA has some dumb laws. Seems "local government" makes their own rules.
  5. Double clutching is the only way I can shift my MH. Can't get the hang of shifting without a clutch.
  6. Mike - not a problem. I saw them when I drove by last week and knew you lived close. They looked in good condition. You don't see many single axle dumps. Look at it this way...you just saved me about $20K. I will buy you breakfast next time for your efforts. Thanks!!
  7. I was good friends with a Plymouth dealer when I lived in Illinois. The Sales Manager told me a similar story about the Superbird. He had them lined up in a circle around the dealership....almost couldn't give them away. Roll back the clock and I would take the money I spent on a college education and buy as many as I could.
  8. Nice looking truck. Are the knobs missing from the top 2 rows of the RH panel or are they toggle switches? Hope you get it at a good price.
  9. Brown is good! Wonder what UPS would think if they saw it? From what little I know about UPS, they rebuild and keep everything to get 500% from everything. I heard some of their package cars are over 40 years old. P.S. If you plan to part it out...give me a call.
  10. Really like the International tractor and Dodge Daytona pics. Only made the winged Daytona in 1969 (replaced by Plymouth Superbird for 1970). Again, thanks for posting these old pics.
  11. Mike - Nice bunch of F's.
  12. It would be helpful to be more specific...make, model, year, location, etc.
  13. Dave, Nice pics. I am guessing that the "kid standing on the ground" next to the Matlack is you.
  14. Thanks Ron! I hope it will help "tame" those bumps. Likely will not get any mods done this year but maybe next year I can get a "sleeping" area built over the fifth wheel. First I need to install a curbside "walkin" door. Of course an air mattress and sleeping bag will make it a "sleeping" area.
  15. Just a quick update...check sent to dealer in Phoenix. Once the check clears the bank, ODFL will pickup the trailer and deliver it to Altoona, PA. I should have the trailer by mid-May. Thanks for all the suggestions. P.S. The trailer only has about 55K miles and was used by a "high end" furniture store that went out of business.
  16. Like the last one - the rebuilt F model with the babe on the front. The only way to improve a Mack is with a good looking babe. Actually I like all the posts....THANKS!
  17. Would love to hear it run. I hope the driver wears ear plugs.
  18. Nice work! Keep posting those pics. Very interesting.
  19. But it has a Cummins engine.
  20. That is called printing...not DEVELOPING.
  21. Store the images on memory cards and have electronic albums. That is what I do (and I'm an old fart without a new fangled i-phone or whatever these new gizmos are called these days). I seldom print images, only the ones I want to frame or display. How do you develop electronic images? You develop film and print pictures.
  22. Keep posting...enjoy seeing all the old articles and ads.
  23. $70!!!!! WTF, I thought you have a new fangled electronic gizmo that takes digital pics.
  24. Vinny, when you get old like me, you will kick yourself for not taking pictures of today's new trucks.
