  1. I picked up Steel in Chicago on a street with a dock made for short trailers and day cab single axle trucks. The guys were always amazed when I would put The Green Hornet and a 48 foot Spread axle flatbed in their dock. And when you got past the steel poles i would pull all the way up into the driveway in front of that garage or if needed into the small alley next to it. Crazy thing is you couldn't do it Driver's side because there were cars and both sides all the way down the street. Sometimes there was a car that would park just past those steel poles and that would create and even bigger challenge lol.
  2. I look at it this way yeah there's alot of Non Americans etc out here and people that don't have a clue what being a real truck driver is. Yeah we make jokes about um and all that but when it boils down to it we are all in this together Whether you've been out here 40yrs or just hit the road outta drivin School. It's up to us that have been out Here along time to help these new ones out and pass on what we learned and Respect them as drivers. Because no matter if you were self taught or went to a drivin school or were taught by someone in your family etc. We were all newbies once. I've started helping these guys when I can be of help instead of Makin jokes about them. I had a new driver and yes he was foreign come up to me just awhile ago and ask what to do to prepare to be unloaded. We're hauling structural steel for a build. I told he what to do and he Replied. Ok thanks for the advice. Made me feel good as a driver.
  3. We shortened the bumpers on log trucks at the lumber company I worked for. It does help with the turning and if something got stuck between the tires and bumper.
  4. I'm the same. I can drive for hours on end in The Green Hornet. But driving long distance in my Wife's FordEdge my arms start hurting and it's like I can't git comfortable and I git tired.
  5. Well it Used to be The Difference between a JB Hunt Truck and a Schneider truck was about 10 gallons of Orange Paint
  6. And what is the difference between a JB Hunt and Schneider Truck?? Hahahaha. These drivers in these videos never cease to amaze me. 🙄
  7. Oh yeah I see them everytime we go to Church in Iaeger. I would love to git ahold of that Brockway.
  8. That's right down the road from Ikes Fork where my wife is from!!!
  9. I got Diesel for 3.87 a gallon here in Ohio at Speedway by my house
  10. Hmmm I've been up around Cleveland Area alot and haven't seen that Beauty. Would love to have it in my driveway. I will definitely be on the lookout for it.
  11. Actually they were decently bright if the fibers were good. I drove a 1995 Peterbilt 379 and the dash lights were well lit and decent. As the fibers start wearing out or losing their optic Power they git dim.
  12. The Sleeper just had The bigger bed in the bottom twin in the top bunk. Fridge ,work station desk with light ,space for a TV, and 3 closets. It was all really nice and nothing rattled like most plastic trucks lol. It was my home away from home.
  13. Was the same exact sleeper cab. Coronado just had the long hood. Its actually called a Century Coronado on the manufacturing plate
  14. I loved my 14.0L. 515 horse from the factory and mine would boost almost 50psi on the boost gauge. Truck would flat fly down the road even fully loaded. It was in a 2006 Freightliner Coronado. We timed it once on a 16mile stretch and covered it in less than ten minutes. Truck was named Can't Touch This. Another thing that caused her to run wonky was the Air compressor was going bad. Sure miss that ol'big wheel sports car.
  15. Had that happen to a 14.0L Detroit and it ended up being the EGR .
  16. Early fiber optics. Peterbilt did the exact same thing in the 379s
  17. I agree with Licensed to Kill on this one. Even if someone gives alil attitude it's still would be no reason for me to pull out a gun on them. I live in the country and I don't like people snooping around my land but I ain't gonna pull my 12ga on them just for Stopping and asking a question and giving me alil attitude in the process. Best bet would be to post No trespassing signs along with Not for sale signs etc. And yes I have a reputation with our local law enforcement as well on how I conduct myself when it comes to my property and my parents property etc. Cops I don't have a clue who they are all know me.
  18. I delivered lumber up to J&J Log and Lumber in Dover Plains,New York for almost 4years. Them Upstate new Yorkers always never ceased to amaze me at their pronunciation of words or the way they did things. Beautiful country up there and they have almost as many horse farms as Kentucky. You should see the Horse Coaches for those high dollar horses. They are better than most houses.
  19. Oh yeah and then you have the Upstate Nu yawkas that eat their pizza folded and pronounce The Town of Yonkers NY as Yonkas lol
  20. You can always tell where people are from lol I l love to take a walk in the Park.... Not a Wak in Da pak lol gotta have that genuine accent to say it right hahahaha 😆 😂 🤣
  21. My 2015 Mack CHU613 Pinnacle just had an issue with the fan not shutting off due to some wiring issues. Mechanic fixed it and she got her power back. You'd be surprised how much an engine fan running all the time effects the motors power. Plus it made the truck super loud and when taking her up to 1800 rpm to shift she'd sound like she had a boost leak. Sure am glad she's fixed now though
  22. Hmm I would say that psi wouldn't be uncommon for a big V8. I had a 515hp Detroit 60's series in my 2005 Freightliner Coronado that would push almost 50psi at times under a pull. Sounded like a 747 gittin ready for take off when you fired her up lol.
  23. We had negative 35 with the wind chill here last Thursday and Friday in Ohio.
  24. My Grandpa had to build an Engine Stand from Scratch to hold the engine from his Brockway. It rotated the engine 360 degrees. He had his friend that owned the local Junk yard called Army's here in Lima,Ohio bring over his Engine picker machine to git the motor out. He had to replace the camshaft I believe is what he told me. After he died I found that same stand sitting in the weeds by his property line and it was still in use able shape. But wouldn't you know that Someone had more energy than me I guess and stole it.
