  1. Lets not forget we now have the Super Congress...6 people who can over rule any bill or law and pass what they feel is best, and since they only answer to the White House, I assume they now the supreme power to abuse us. I guess they are equal to mao's panel of six. I do sure hope we have no " unconfirmed terrorist attack" tomorrow , or I fear the sob will declare martial law and make himself king. Paul
  2. The feds did not raid the other guitar makers in the U.S who by the same wood from the same suppliers. The DFW had issues with the wood not being in the fully finished form. While india and Madagascar saw no problems there and stated it in a letter to the DFW and EPA. As Gibson stated "If we out source the entire finishing process it will eliminate 40 U.S. jobs". As for the micro stamping. The White House backs signing the U.N. Arms Treaty that basicly controls and regulates everything from a Battleship to the individual putting on a scope. We have already named sections of the counrty "World Heritage Lands" that come under U.N. control and signed the Law of the Sea treaty that requirers all waterways, rivers, lakes and such that empty into the oceans to be used in accordence with U.N. envirmental and species protection laws. Obammies also a proponent of the U.N. Mother Earth mandate. That give the earth and all the living forms equal standing to humans and the power to sue for damages and suffering. It's also a way to sneak Cap and Trade in. There is to much going on that the "media" does not or will not cover. We get a lot more info from the BBC world news and from relatives stationed in Germany then from here. You kind of have to read sort and toss alot to get to the truth. Paul
  3. The tricks have already started.Read the article on Gibson Guitars. Fords had factories overseas since the early 1900's.Great Briton, Russia, Germany Brazil and Turkey. Old Henry knew it was easier to sell a car built in country than an imported one. I had to join the Teamsters when I worked for a sand and gravel company here, Cost a lot of money to let me service a machine on a job site or deliever pay checks..... The one thing that was on the news one day was the Solar Panel co. he touted in California and gave 540 million to went bust. They closed because they could not compete with the overseas companies that sold the same product for 42% less. Seems the prevalling union wages slightly added to the cost. Vote him out!!!
  4. After reading the transcrpt of the speech I see these are the main parts.Help Teachers keep their jobs, help Civil servents keep their jobs, help companies hire more people (to do?), help Union workers keep their jobs with shovel ready projects, renew unemployment to creat jobs(?) and help the banks and mortgage companies with their bad loans to creat jobs. Now we are going to colleges to sell the the package. Is it just me who hears nothing but "blah, blah, blah not my fault" or what?
  5. You're good people, we could sure use more like you. Hats off to you. Paul
  6. Ya forgot the eave vents for the "hood". Funny I was thinking of "one piece at a time" when I saw it..... Scary thought, the guy from American Trucker would probbly go ape over it. Paul
  7. It's like going past a wreck, I can't stop looking at it a how many COE's were used to make it....Paul
  8. Here is a salvage yard in Freehold N.J. on ebay with some good deals on rubber.Browse his listings he appears to have a ton of stuff and gives his phone number too Paul http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4-315-80R22-5-tires-good-year-/160638051623?pt=Other_Vehicle_Parts&hash=item2566c62527
  9. I use these people, they are geared to antique trucks 2 1/2 tons and up. Paul http://www.insurance-marketplace.com/truck.htm
  10. Hope you all get the needed rain or at least the winds die off. Be carefully as you can. We had a big fire in the Pine Barrens here in '95 ,a baby fire compared to what you're dealing with, but I saw what it can do first hand. BE SAFE and BE CAREFULL. Our prayers are with you. Paul
  11. The required safety devices in the inspection is relative to the year of your truck. You are required to have what was required in 1961. My mixer has a Low Air warning light that was added next to the gauge. It is wired to a pressure switch mounted in the primary air tank. The wiring and switch are definatly an add on. Paul
  12. I think your right. think thats factory, we have a few here in dark blue and silver. Paul
  13. I read the article in O.D mag and the driver did not take the companies program that is in a rehab facility, he joined AA to save his insurance costs before reimbersment. Most everybody I've seen in AA drinks as much or more than before they joined. Paul

    Post Turtle:

New name for him! Good! Much better than hnic.
  15. Whew, glad I'm not the only one that has that type of stuff happen. Hang in there.
  16. Recaps from a main stream company are as good as new tires. I get mine from Max Finkelstein. He's a distributor for Good Year, Michelin and Hankook. He has 2 or 3 facilities in the N.Y. area. They have to meet DOT standards. Most casings can be safely recapped 2 or 3 times and are designed with that in mind. Savings are about a third less than new up here. There is an interesting side note, most of the road gators you see here are not from recaps failing, but from new tires being run low on air. Paul
  17. I'll be in Hersey for the full 4 plus days. I'm sure I'll find something or be able get detail photos and dimensions from one. I'm also looking for the door slide channels to copy. You can PM me and I'll give you my personal e mail address to keep you posted. Paul
  18. NYS DMV state inspection for commercial and historic tagged commercial heavy vehicles are as follows. Fuel System Leaks Securely-Mounted Tanks Filler Caps Brakes Service and Parking Brakes Drums and Rotors Hoses and Tubing Low Air Warning Device Tractor Protection Valve Coupling Devices Fifth Wheels Pintle Hooks Tow Bars Safety Devices Lighting Devices Stop Lights Turn Signals Headlights Clearance Lights Marker Lights Steering Mechanism Suspension Frame Members and Body Components Tires and Wheels Windshield and Wipers Rearview Mirrors Horn Exhaust System
  19. I met Arnie Beswick at the UDRA Summer Nationals in 1970 when he ran a GTO funnycar, and again a few years ago at Cacklefest in E town. I followed him and Arlen mainly because the both ran Pontiac Tempests at one time. I some what recall the Weekend Warrior. Here in the N.Y. area the Poncho expert was and still is Nunzi Romano in Brooklyn and Royal Pontiac
  20. FMCSA rules come first, sounds like a way to scam the company and the system! Boo hoo poor me. Take some repondsibility for yourself and the others you may kill or injure. Too many "disabilities" if you ask me. Your "disabled" if you drink, or do drugs, or a over weight or lazy. Get over it, it's not any bodies fault but your own. IMO another bum trying to get on the free money tit! Paul
  21. Sure like to see that! "Akron Arlen" Vanke and "Arnie the Farmer" Beswick were heros to me in the 60's and 70's. My father ran a D/gas 55 chevy in the 60's that I ran on the street from the 70's til now, and I crewed on Marinos Italian Ices '72 Challenge A/fc. interesting cars than, not cookie cutter blobs like now. Paul
  22. My personal experences are that you never skimp on tires or brakes. Lives depend on them. Paul
  23. My '28 has an early hood on ,with out the top access door and 10 louvers, which after doing research on your post I've learned its 1922 and older. I'm off to Hersey Pa. for the October swap meet. last year I found NOS pistons and gaskets for my AC engine there. I'll keep my eyes open for one that is good for your measurements if still needed or a pair of good ones. Paul
  24. Yes, A/fx , B/fx or C/fx depending on c.i and fuel ......not fx the series
