  4. I missed this post. The only way to hack a cars computer is if it has some type of communications link to the outside world. On-Star is so far the only setup that could allow it. It uses the cellular network so it is possible to hack it. MY advice is to stay away from "networked" vehicles and stick to simple. It too pisses me off that cars and now even trucks are being filled with pointless electronic crap. And that is mainly due to the fact that most people simply cannot drive which really isn't that hard at all. Expect more and more controll to be taken away from the driver to make the roads "safer". This only makes vehicles more and more vulnerable to electronic forms of attack. And we will see it happen.
  5. He is talking about Euro cab overs. They know how to combine comfort and ruggedness.
  6. LOL, good one! I applaud him for not drinking too much piss water. There are so many great beers out there that I cant figure out why people still drink Bud, Coors, Miller etc. Too many here in this country forgot what a real beer tastes like. Many of the micro brew recipes are taken or influenced by real old world recipes which is pretty much what men drank in the old days. Not this filtered tasteless piss water thats "easy" to drink. On a hot day there in nothing like a cold unfiltered hefeweizen with a slice of lemon thrown in.That or a frosty Brooklyn Lager.
  7. Woah! That B is sick! Perfect for an RV conversion and trailer toter.
  8. I have seen that picture of the two RD's pulling the big boy. I just cant figure out why the two trucks arent ballasted (weighed) to keep the steer axles on the ground. Would also give them allot more traction.
  9. Saturday! Barry, Will we have a group photo this year? I want to make it this time.
  10. Awesome trucks. Looks like someone is going for the Australian look. Just need the vertical intake stacks on the Superliner and poly or chromed half fenders.
  11. The modern disc brakes you see without the shaft have been around for a while in Europe (over a decade). And those Bendix disc brake parts and designs are from Knorr Bremse, parent company of Bendix. Knorr is a big foundation brake company along with Wabco and Haldex. Unfortunately people appear to be hesitant to spec them which is why so few stock the parts. Plenty of parts to be had on a global scale so supply is no problem. I bet they will become near manditory of the feds decide to shorten the mandated braking distance. Mack doesn't offer any disc brakes on their axles. The airliner axle from Hendrickson does have disc brake options so it might be an option for vendor axles.
  12. That big ass sandwich doesn't look too bad, just needs mayo, thats all.
  13. Its Volvo's T-Ride but with an M. 6 rod design.
  14. Okay what the hell was that? Destroy a new truck for what appeared to be more entertainment than education. Plus the cable company improperly labeled the programming guide so I only recorded half of the show.
  15. He will probably have a flashback of momma going for his groin the day he bought that one truck home that sent her over the edge. That should prevent him from doing any damage.
  16. I hate road spray. don't matter where it comes from. The Australians have the poly fenders with bristles to suppress road spray and dust. Doesent sound like a bad idea to me.
  17. Welcome! You need to add some pictures to your gallery, I would like to get a good look at your Superliner!
  18. In a CCC and not a Mack. I hope Mack also demos a CNG LE so they can compete with CCC.
  19. That would be the number 88. Its supposedly the "secret" way to write heil Hitler because H is the 8th letter of the alphabet. So two 8's means heil Hitler. I guess everyone who has even driven car 88 is a Nazi then . I always laugh when I hear morons think every instance of 88 is somehow some super secret code for Nazi nonsense.
  20. I thought this would be a simple wreck or roll over but dam! He derailed a train! If the gates failed then I feel real bad for him. If he was being a moron and trying to beat the train then its his own fault and paid for it dearly.
  21. I believe you could order different colors for a B interior but green was standard except for fire trucks which were red.
  22. Sad part is Uncle Sam never declared an official language.
  23. He obviously does not know how to sell his truck. $500 opening with a reserve = people walk away (or click away in this case) from your ad. And to top it off he has pictures of it covered in crap and used a a wall to hold back crap. Way to go... genius.
  24. Son of a bitch! LOL On a serious note: Barry, that is a great document. It would be interesting to see if we could write a VIN decoder plug in for the forum. A simple text box would take in the VIN as a string and a script would parse the string and then assemble a description for the truck. Would be a great addition for the forum. And then maybe we could design it to even decode the older VIN's (eg. RW713, RL700L, etc) by recognizing the first one or two characters. I dont know if IP Board supports user made plugins though.
